Thread: cant install modem

hey guys i hav bsnl adsl type1 modem the prob is d driver cd i got wid modem is not gettin installed at 3rd stage of installation.......so m unable 2 connect internet
i hav taken new conn. and for 1 month m unable 2 connect........m also unable to connect through ethernet coz it cant find ethernet controller....i hav broadcom nxe ......but on my pci card its written d-link so i cant find ethernet driver...................need big help...........

Please mention

1. Modem - model and make

2. Which mode are you trying to connect ? PPPoE or Bridge.

I suggest you buy a new LAN card. Costs around just Rs. 500. It is much better than using USB cable.

and try the settings.

3. Did the BSNL staff give you the connection in working condition ?

Procedure for installation of USB driver/s:
remove the modem usb cable from computer end.
Download from CD USB drivers to say C:/ Modem usb drivers.
remove the CD.
Now restart the system reconnecting the cable.
Let windows detect the new hardware ( modem )
follow procedure to install drivers from above location.
Any error message ?
