    Default disconnection problem

    Hi Friends,

I am facing strange problem since i installed bsnl broadband a month ago. My net disconnects frequently (every 5-10 minutes). I have nokia-siemens wifi router. The "DSL" light remains stable for 5-10 minutes and then starts blinking again. this process keeps on repeating.

I called bsnl guys and they have visited my home 2 times. they say every thing is okay.

There is slight disturbance in my landline phone's dial tone. Also, I see that the phone wire comming from pole is little bit rusted. I asked bsnl guys to replace the wire but they wont

One strange thing i have noticed is that if i disconnect the wire from my landline phone, then the disconnection is less frequent (once in 3-4 hours)

    Kindly suggest.

Will it disconnect on lifting the handset of telephone or when you receive a call?

    1. Check your splitter. Make sure that it is not faulty. Connect directly to the modem and check.

    2. Make sure that all the connection come after splitter. Follow this diagram

    3. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

Apart from @meetdilip instructions, disable ADSL2+ and monitor.

Get your line checked. Talk to the line man and ask him to replace the cable from junction box to your home. Make sure it does not have too many joints and improper insulation.

Before, calling the linesman try connecting only your router without splitter to your line, no telephone only router without splitter to your line and observe the connection stability to rule out the possibility of splitter failure or problem after the splitter.
