Thread: Facing Problem With My Broadband Connection

Hi,

I'm using bsnl broadband service with win 7 desktop pc via Nokia Siemens C2110 modem. So far I was using broadband without any issues but today when I tried to connect I got, "Connection through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)...
Error 651 : The modem (or the connecting device) has reported an error" message. Yesterday it was running fine but don't know what happened today? I turned off my pc, modem completely & tried again several times but no use. Please help!

It is a known issue with windows 7, it is because of raspppoe drivers.
If you have a dual boot system try booting into xp and check whether the problem exists or not?
If you don't have a dual boot system then you may try pppoe mode instead of dialer mode.

@mvb4u : hi i don't have xp only win 7. BTW can you tell me how to try pppoe mode?

you can see essbebe compilation or calcutta telephones website has an illustration how to configure modem in pppoe mode but, before changing anything backup your modem's configuration to restore it later if you want to switch to dialer mode.
