did you create a network in MAC? like in xp system? Same ssid entered in modem wifi page.
    In modem enable DHCP.
Network settings obtain Ip address automatically.
try one system at a time or connect in "AlwaysON" PPP/PPPoE
mode ( userID/PW entered in wan page )
see wa 3002-G4 link for settings. menu pages will be similar for wifi model.

Please post copy/pase here with XP OS system.
    ipconfig /all
compare with the MAC OS system.
I am on user acct on MacBook laptop, and unable to check
network settings. ( also new to mac OS)
Basically the SSID ID entered in modem wifi page should appear in any wifi network settings: either secured or unsecured.
Modem settings are common to both OS>
( any option to add "MAC" address in modem wifi white list ?
Enable and enter for both laptops.

Where did you entered. You need to enter in white list field. You can also manage without that. Follow these steps.

    1. Configure you modem in PPPoE

    2. Enable DHCP in the modem

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of the connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically.

From the screen shot It appears that your mac book is able to obtain ip address and default gateway.
at command prompt use the following command

    Ping 192.168.1.1

    post the results and

    ping Yahoo!

    post the results.

same as "whitelist" which allows system with MAC data entered.
You can use either "allow " or disabled button.

Also mention modem/wifi router model /make/number.
See Post No 11. if listed.
