Thumbs down BSNL is Basically Earning Through CHEATING!!

BSNL is Basically Earning Huge Sums of Money Through Cheating!
How is this Possible? Let me Show you How?

    1. The Speed is increased to Up to 2mbps for all plans (except Unlimited Plan) This means your Monthly Quota gets exhausted faster than ever!

    2. Approx more than 70 percent of the Dataone Users are non techies ie they do not even know how to manage/use bandwidth wisely like the average forum users like me and the rests here!

    3. Calculate the stats and economics involved in the over usage of bandwidth limit. say for a for a home 250 the extra mb would cost .90 paise. Normally, a victim of bsnl (who is a non techie or a layman experiencing downloads) would overdo say 2-3 gb with that kind of a bandwidth. That is, say an excess of 2 gb.

    2gb = 2000 mb X .90 = 1800 rupees!! Imagine the rest of INDIA!!...

...That many connections and that many blunders and that much earning is what BSNL sees!

You may doubt this because they also have unlimited plan! Bullshit! Why didn't they (BSNL) also increase the Bandwidth of Unlimited Plan to Up to 2 mbps as they are charging 900 per month? Because the earning is LIMITED in UNLIMITED plan!!!!!

The underlying fact is that, believe me, BSNL is earning more through the layman's blunder rather than through the Good Way.

1gb = 1024 mb not 1000, any way that is not the matter of argument here.

You are right in saying that bsnl is earning out of peoples mistakes or lack of knowledge but that doesnt amount to cheating as bsnl provides all the information to customers prior to the purchase.

Sorry for the above unit (1024) should have been but I did it for the sake of ease for any layman might be reading this!

Seecondly, why would not (BSNL) increase the bandwidth for Unlimited plan to, say, at least to 512 or 1 mbps if not 2 mbps just for the morale of the Unlimited users. Is it fair?

hey. i never had a problem with bsnl.
its the best speeds we r getting here. my friends here get good speeds too, wid an unlimited package. mine is a limited package. i compared my speeds with that of another person with an unlimited package to find that we have the same speeds of download and upload.

Hows that possible man ??If ur an unlimited user you have a speed of 256 kbps and a limited user have a speed of 256 kbps -2 mbps so your friend is not getting the speed of 2 mbps but instead getting the same as yours i.e 256 kbps.

its not unfair on BSNLs part, they are doing a legit bussiness here ...
UL plans do not get a speed lift , coz its unlimited and that might coz a huge bandwidth deficit for BSNl... they will probably increase it in a year or so !

But they just cannot provide the service because the download speed between 2 to 8 A.M. is really slow. If they cannot provide the service then they must simply stop the service.

I understand your frustration but if bsnl stops providing internet services who would provide internet connections in thousands of villages which bsnl currently covers all over India?

Wait for bsnl's wimax and you will love bsnl to bits

wimax is the new and better wifi ... it can provide upto gigabits of speed ...
ok and i just wanted to share , as of april first i have moved to the home 500 plan of 2mbps with night time unlimited, and beleive me i am getting the promised 2mbps .... and all the time , even in the heavy dl times like from 2 am to 8 am !!!
but mostly on Http and ftp downloads ... torrents get me around half the speed , which also is not that bad at all ! so i guess i am lucky or the service is just great in hyd !

Default A unique tormentor named bsnl

BSNL has been my tormentor since when I took the landline and subsequently dial-up Internet and broadband. They have thousand ways of hoodwinking the customers. Let me tell you just a few:

    1. EARLY 2000: I was asked to guarantee deposit after they cut my connection by saying they did not receive my payment, though that was duly placed through post office. Then I had to cough up !500 as security deposit at Ranikuthi Exchange, Kolkata and I was told that the sum will be adjusted with bill after one year. That never took place as yet. Mind you, Before that they took the then statutory deposit of 3000 before sanctioning the phone. I tried to contact with senior personnel and each time they were either "unavailable" or "busy in meeting".

    2. MID 2000: There was huge billing on the dial-up, to the tune of 2000-3000 and I could not ever convince them that I did not use that much of Internet.

    3. LATE 2000 (Ongoing) I changed my residence in between and thought to go through the customary process of "shifting" system of BSNL. Not only that took long time to materialize, but made me weary of running to their zonal head office time and again. And there is no end to the harassment: I'm still receiving "monthly billing" Mail for both the old number (that shows 0 amount by God's grace) and the new number. In between there are occasions when I had to provide "complementary sum" to the BSNL personnel who would come to repair my connection after repeated calls.

    4. LATE 2000 (continued): A staff of BSNL appeared one day and offered me a "manikjod" sim card and said it's absolutely free. Eventually I lost that sim and even informed the local office, but they said they cannot help if I cannot provide the number! It's from the next month they started billing me Rs 40. And there's more! Even after I paid that sum for the last month at their authorized kiosk, the next bill on that "promised free sim: carried forward that amount to the new month's amount.

    5. AND THE LATEST (JUNE 2009): Few minutes back I received a mailed bill for this month, a bundled one with Internet billing. To my amazement I found the broadband bill amounted to 1054, while my usage exceeded just 674 MB (that too according to their portal). I use a 2.5 GB Home 500 plan.

AND THERE WAS MORE: I checked my phone calls of the month of may from their "view bills online" section. I found the number of units actually called is less than what their fortnightly meter billed for the month. It's in the tune of 50-55 units. Then I checked the bills of the previous months and found the same thing in them.

It's for our tight schedule and lackadaisical attitude they carry on with their mission to siphon thousand customers. I'm carefully preparing the dossier of their misdeeds through decades and I wish someday I'd pray for justice from the competent authorities, thus letting them playing in for some more time.

    ............
you have perhaps not seen the life

imagine, why should bsnl should cheat any one? unlike private telcos, who have agents etc, bsnl operates thro internal resourses and staff, except for selling Cellone connections and coupons. at the worst they may behave little rough, unlike most other corrupt organizations' staff, who talk sweet as they get bucks from you illegally. Sorry to say all these words !!!

If you are not prepared to understand realities, perhaps no discussion can help.
your actual tormentors could be Commercial tax, income tax, Road transport authorities thro agents, Customs and central excise etc. Even police are not sparing you. Municipal corporation is squeezing you. Corporate Hospitals are behaving highly commercial only. I clearly know of private telcos how they squeeze your money. they wont respond to your complaint at all

I heard many people telling that in did not download, so why i should be counted
-- they forget, that what ever travells across in either direction counts for usage in Mb or Kb.
Finally when such persons can sit and coolly think, they know the answers.
Perhaps it is but natural to get annoyed when our money flows out.

Limited plans are always risky. For techies its cool because we can manage the downloads to 2-8 n enjoy the max benefit.
But for children n non techies UL plan is safe.(but reduced monthly downloads)

After all i am exceeding my limit these days because now i am addicted to online gaming

Unless you are a member of a BSNL forum, it is very hard to maintain a BSNL connection without surprises. If people are loosing money not because of their fault, BSNL is to be blamed. I too lost a few thousand rupees due to BSNL's excellent customer care and grievance cell. Switched to UL 750.

I'd say the best plan for newbies would be flexi 350. If you stay within limit it costs 350. then if download in over 2.47 GB, it becomes unlimited for the particular month !!

Isn't the limit 1.8 GB for flexi 350. Surely the best plan for beginners as the maximum charged amount is Rs. 1500. But most new customers choose Home - 250 like what I have done. Considering 1 GB is more than enough for domestic use and put themselves in trouble.

yes you are right about the plan details...
