Thread: cable modem keeps restarting pls have a look this prob is different

Hello! I've done a search and haven't found a problem exactly the same as this one please have a look...

I have a bsnl cable modem (Nokia siemens) connection which is split with my three computer. every thing was going well but after few month i found my modem reset after every few minutes. i marked when i turn on my pc-2 this problem only occurred. so i stop working with pc-2. and go with pc-1 and pc-3. it was all ok. but after few day again i faced the same issue.so i again checked which computer is making the modem reset. this time i found pc-3 is creating the problem. but surprisingly i found pc-2 which was previously creating the problem now working ok. so i go with pc1 and pc-2 and stop working with pc-3. every thing was ok. but now the same problem and this time my pc-1 is making the modem reset.

what to do don't know already haired a hardware but result zero. need your help.

see wa3002-G4 link below. Check settings. menu pages are similar.
(Siemen's sl2-141 or Siemens Nokia Network 1600 wifi model )

Enable dhcp (in Lan menu page.) Give range 192.168.1.3 to say 192.168.1.20
Save reboot from Management.
Wait for two minutes.

Procedure:

type ipconfig /all

Presume Firmware upgrade. Probably from motive web site. confirm.

Presume you use PPP/PPPoE "Always ON" connection
( user ID and PW entered in WAN page of modem )

If your modem is more than 1.5 years old and it keep restarting then there may be the fault in capacitor in the modem.

I was facing the same problem the capacitors were having the fault. I got capacitor replaced and now modem is working fine.

Go to any electronics repair shop and get the capacitor replaced. It will cost around Rs. 50-Rs 75.
