Default Help needed to connect Alfa wireless broadband router with BSNL ZTE modem

    Hi all ,

May I request you to help me by instructing me as to how to configure Alfa wireless 802.11g wireless broadband router with BSNL ZTE type-II modem. The reason to opt for this additional router is that it has a high output of 600mw with a wide coverage area.
The modem detail is as follow.
    Device Info

    BoardID: 96338W
    Software Version: ZXDSL 531BIIV7.3.0g_D09_IN
    Bootloader (CFE) Version: 1.0.37-8.7
    Wireless Driver Version: 3.131.35.6.cpe2.0a.s

This information reflects the current status of your DSL connection.

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 512
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 2048
    LAN IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    MAC Address: 00-19-c6-8d-ab-30
    Default Gateway: 59.95.192.1
    Primary DNS Server: 218.248.240.208
    Secondary DNS Server: 218.248.240.134

The BSNL network connection detail is as under:
    physical address : 00-11-25-F0-2F-C5

    IP address :192.168.1.2
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway : 192.168.1.1
    Prefered DNS : 192.168.1.1

    The router detail is

supports PPPoE/PPTP/DHCP/Static IP for xDSL/cable internet connections
NAT/NAPT enable multiple users share one internet connection
Provides IEEE 802.11 series 2.4 GHZcompliant assess point
Built in DHCP server supports auto IP address assignment
    Built-in Anti-Dos SPI firewall
    Provides Virtual servere/DMZ
    Supports VPN pass through
    Supports web based configuration

I lack adequate knowledge of network set up. I have been trying to set up router for more than a week without any success ! On the laptop the router SSID is displayed but net browsing does not work.

Being a research scientist , presently I am stationed at a very remote place in north Arunachal pradesh and lucky to get BSNL ADSL broadband connection but not lucky to get network professional to solve the problem !
Will deeply appreciate point point instruction to resolve the issue.
    Kind Regards

Please check the link WA3002_g4 quick reference guide given below.
    modem wifi settings are same.
confirm you can connect in wifi mode. Note the ssid name in 531B..

    2.
    See No 4 below :
NOW FROM LAN1 connect rj45 to your new WIFI router. Internet port.
presume you have set it up. check the ssid name.
check whethrer you connect to this network.
If ok you can disable wif in 531B unit.
    3.

If you need more coverage you can configure your alfa router as wireless repeater then you will surely have more coverage than a single wireless access point can cover.

Step by step instructions are difficult but please refer to this one: Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection.

    Important:

    a) The local LAN IP address of ZTE modem must be 192.168.1.1.
    b) The local LAN IP address of Alfa wireless 802.11g modem must be 192.168.2.1.

Two routers cannot exist on the same network. They must be on different subnets.

Also set the TCP/IP properties of pc/laptop to automatic. See this guide:

    How to set TCP/IP settings

    Very simple
Open web management interface of your alfa router
for this you can refer user manual
after opening from wan settings enable obtain ip address automatically.
lan configuration of alfa router disable dhcp

As already pppoe is active on your zte router, this new alfa router acts as a wireless repeater.

You can seemlessly roam with in the coverage area of the two routers with a better signal coverage than a single router can provide.

If further, help is need I can configure your routers through crossloop session.
