Thread: Problem with Modem

Dear Friends,

I have been using Airtel Broadband till now. Recently I Have moved to BSNL and i am planning to use the same modem for BSNL. My modem is Beetel 110BX1. Thanks to the various threads in this forum, I have configured the modem to a limit that I am able to access some sites. I can access sites like Google, Orkut etc. I am unable to access sites like indiabroadband, mobile9 Etc.

I have attached Screen shot of the diagnostic tab in my modem, Screen shot of WAN Settings, Screen shot of Summary.

Please note that in my Diagnostic Report Test Enet 1-3 Connection is shown as failed. Is this the reason why i can access only some sites?

I will be much Obliged if you people can help me to solve this issue

Check MTU box if available. set to 1492.
Also in Access control check all boxes http ftp telenet etc for WAn side.
Try dns 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220

Tried all the changes you mentioned. but the problem still persists. Pls help!!

Try ipconfig /flush and ipconfig/renew
Mention the firewall program you use.
ping Google and post result.

Appears your version of XP is quite out of date.
Confirm SP2 and Sp3 updates have been done.
Support for all versions of XP ceased on July 10th 2010.

Upgrade IE to IE8 also if not done..

try different browser like Chrome/Firefox Opera.

Mention Firewall and AV application used.Disable both.

If you can access speedguide.net download tcpoptimiser
and try different values of MTU . Reduce by 8 each time from 1492.

Most Users usually read only the latest post !

Download tcp/ip optimizer and from it reduce mtu.
