Question Nokia Siemens router from BSNL

    Dear All,

I have the Nokia Siemens router from BSNL and i got below 3 queries:-

    1. I changed the router admin login and password. Unfortunately, I don't remember that now & thus can not login to the admin page (192.168.1.1). Is there a way to recover the password other than resetting the modem?

    2. I am unable to login to BSNL Portal data.bsnl.in in spite of providing the correct password. I don't see any option like "Forget password-click here". Do they have one?

    3. Where is the router configuration file stored?

    Thanks in advance.
    Troy.

recover the password other than resetting the modem?
No. you can try user pw as password.
If you are getting connected to internet , why you need to access modem settings ?
    2. portal user id is 14 digit and default password is password.
BSNL Portal may redirect you to selfcare pages depending on your location.
3.Router configuration file can be Backed up from Management option in the modem.
    4. Mention modem/model/make/number . Select from links below

Problem is i do not remember the user id any option to get that back?

3.Router configuration file can be Backed up from Management option in the modem.

No other option left. You need to try trial and error or reset the modem. If you do not have particular work to do, let it be as it is. I will be more secure than keeping default password.

For portal ID, make a call to local exchange. They keep it in their records. Just one minute business to give it to you.

    thanks for your response Dilip.

I will call up the local exchg to get the Portal ID.

One request - Can you plz share with me some threads here (already existing in this forum) which will help me to better configure my modem to get some extra boost

    1. Try ID and password as admin and check.

    2. Hold the reset button using a refill when powered ON for say 30 seconds.

Yes, you can. Normally, after reset, you should be able to log into the modem. Try resetting again and check. Hope you have plugged in the line too. Which mode were you in ? PPPoE/Bridge ? Try creating a dialer and check.

For me also it blinks (not stable). I think it is not a problem. Glad your issue is solved.

    1. Is the problem only with wireless. Do you face any disconnection while connecting using ethernet cable ?

    2. Do you use any encryption ? If yes, remove it and try.

    3. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

    4. Try building a wifi booser using Aluminium foil. Hope you will get a demo in " Broadband How to ".

If the problem is only with wifi, no need for SNR and attenuation values.
