    Angry Any BSNL Alternative?

    Hi guys!!
I am totally damned with BSNL now. I am using 500 C plus plan. It has just been one month after i took broadband and here i am writing this post. Last month i had written a post asking what to do for my crawling speeds during night. Almost every other day my speeds during night crawl even not enough to open g mail. It was like this for almost about for the whole last week. One such day i was trying to download from Mega upload but my speeds crawled. I got really angry and i called BSNL customer care. A lady lifted the phone and i told her my problem. Then she told her usual messages about cleaning cookies, virus scan, blah blah... I told her that i can confirm that it was their server back end problem. She told she booked a complain. Immediately for the next two days speeds soared back and now for the past few days the same problem. They are throttling my speeds. I am just damned. Are there any alternate ISPs and affordable plans. I am a heavy downloader (About 50GB P.M). Please suggest people

Talk to sde of your exchange and get the problem fixed. If you manage to get your problem fixed by patiently calling and making visits to the exchange until your problem is solved bsnl provides good speeds, but the sad thing is poor customer care and technical staff. once, if your problem is correctly fixed you can enjoy great speeds at economical rates. In my humble opinion, no other operator is providing 2 mbps speed at this rate. So, nag them like anything until your problem is solved. You must be patient.

dude i am getting arround 2.5 mbps in the same plan !
    1) are you using splitter or not ? if yes where ?
    2)try to use g.dmt modulation.
3)post ss of your connection status, got to speedtest.com and post your result and than go to Pingtest.com | The World's Best Quality Ping Test and post your result.
4)use open dns or google dns, configure it properly both in your system and in modem.
5)as the monsoon is going on try useing internet directly by disconnecting the phone wire from the splitter.

see with only 1 seeder i am getting quite good speed !

and if reliance is available in your area switch to them !

Get the reliance 749 plan (600 kbps day, 1mbps night; always unlimited) or the 1099/1499 plans (1mbp day/2 mbps night).

Right now I'm using BSNL Home 1000 (same as bsnl home 500 but with a slightly bigger daytime download quota). I ordered a reliance 749 connection and they finished the paperwork.

I would suggest try out reliance for a few months.

Airtel has a better quality connection than bsnl but the FUP is really awful.
Reliance "apparently" has no FUP and a better connection quality.

Complaining to BSNL is almost always useless if it's a problem on their server's end. The only things they actually ever fix are line issues in the last mile region.

Firstly there is nothing as 2.5mbps from BSNL forget it.Previously i had good speeds from BSNL now it seems they have curtailed their bandwidth and citing silly reasons to customers as to SNR, Exchange fault, cable fault due to moisture, rain water entering cables etc. The only customer support you have at your disposal is the lineman who never in his life ever heard about SNR and LineAttenuation. He can only join wires, climb on poles and replace your instrument. This BSNL customer support for you,if you are not satisfied with the speeds drop BSNL coz its useless banging your head and the callous attitude of thier officers to blame each other. Check my post how i was made to run pillar to post, even i complained to the GM to intervene, but no use they are busy making plans. If you have MTS at your disposal go for it as it has good speed ask the person to give a demo at your residence to check for speed but dont go by company promises of 3.1mbps etc as its not possible to get such speed on a data card even in favourable conditions which is not possible even in metro cities.
My friend BSNL is economic but when it comes to customer care they are not good at it and play babu tactics blaming each other.BSNL sucks on customer support !!

I have taken the 1536 Kbps plan where i'm getting like 1800+ Kbps all the time.

Plan charge is 2700/- per month.I am paying it quarterly which comes to 2500/- per month.Unlimited plan with NO FUP.Reliance has not started to use FUP yet.So, their WiMax connections are free from FUP & you get more than what you pay.

Here are the plans available.Opt for only the Multi User plans because then you can use as many computers as you want.If you opt for only the Single user Plan , you can use only 1 computer at a time. So, choose among these 4 Multi-User plans available on this below picture.

All of these plans are free from FUP.Take only the Multi User plans which starts from 600 Kbps to 1536 Kbps with price ranging from 1500 to 2700/- but if you pay Quarterly or Yearly , you can save much of your money if you want to.

Yes I know they are costly but Wireless connections are bound to be pricey & in Reliance you get more than what you paid.

Here is what i'm getting now from my 1536 Kbps plan.
    __________________________________________________ ________

I'm way too much impressed with my new Reliance connection.I feel a 70% performance boost then my previous BSNL UL750 which i suffered from 3 years.

This is the Reliance WiMax/WireFree official page :- http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/...ree_plans.html

Opt for Multi-User plans only.Oh by the way , You will get a FREE STATIC IP now with this Plans so you get a connection which is 24X7 connected without needing you to Log-In ever.

    Reliance WiMax = wireless

Wireless internet is almost always more expensive and lower quality than wired connections (greater latency fluctuations, packet losses, susceptible to storms/interference etc)

Unless you have an extremely good reason to take it, i would suggest looking into reliance wire line connections.
