i want to connect my mobiles an laptop through wifi,but none of d devices can find wifi in the vicinity.i have tried everything .plzz guide me step by step.wid screenshots. i shall be very thankful. plzz help urgently

1. Which mode are you in ? PPPoE or Bridge ?

2. Configure your modem in PPPoE, enable DHCP in the modem, in the TCP/IP properties of your connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically "

I can't configure my DNA A211-1 modem for some time now. Actually I can't access the configuration page by typing my IP address in the browser. Whenever I am typing IP address, I am getting a message (attached) to ugrade the software. I don't know how to upgrade the software because I could not find any links to do that. What should I do?

1. Are you able to connect to internet using this modem ?

2. How did you try to access modem settings ?

Obviously I can't connect to Internet using this modem. I tried to access it by typing in my browser 192.168.1.1. And I am getting the software upgrade message.
Tried resetting modem, but it didn't work.

Then i think you have to replace the modem by a new one because reset ain't working means there must be failure of ICs in it.I had a similar situation earlier and i had no choice but to replace.Don't waste your money in repairing it because you won't find the IC chips in the market forsure, so, nothing gonna work.Just buy a new one.

Thanx. I have dowloaded the exe file for modem software update utility. But is it the same one required in case of DNA A211-1 modem? If yes, I will proceed straightaway.

If you can acccesss the menu pages , give feedback.
Probably the utility does FW upgrade in Command Prompt.
Confirm.
I don't have this model.
Mention also suffix SEM ITI MTNL etc
If you need FW file for this modem/router ( and not available in link given earlier)
Give device info. Same as Beetel450BXI/wA3002-g4/Sl2-141 etc.-

Strange things do happen!! While the software upgrade utilty did not work, something else did. After trying for 20 to 30 times, I finally managed to access the settings page and tried to fiddle with different parameters. After much of hard work, finally I thought to click the option of 'bridging' instead of pppoe in the protocol option. It worked! And it's going as of now

You should be lucky enough to get it work again.Btw what did you do if the utility didn't work?

Probably the utility reset first.
Only when RESET 192.168.1.1 modem menu is is accessed.
As good as or similar to resetting to Factory defaults.
Once you select "Bridged" and rest auto select
you may get connected. confirm.
However SAVE/BACKup current settings to say C:/My documents/dialer mode Ok

Somehow the problem seems to be wireless settings. I had switched it off and things were ok. As for the upgrade utility, I pressed the upgrade button and it even tried to upgrade the software. But then it gave the message that "software upgrade failed". I am now sure that modem is ok, it is only settings that are a problem. Still I am not sure if it will go on like this. Let's see

Wifi may not work if you are on Dialer mode.

Gosh!! the settings don't seem to work. Now the problem is if I reconnect, the settings are restored back to PPPoe and not bridging. Try as I might, it is not coming along. Surely, I will post screenshot, but just lemme have a grab first. Hungry

Better find some space in your budget. You may very soon need to buy a new modem.
