    @essbebe
    Please summarise briefly the problem
    VuZE/ Utorrent working fine with XP SP2 O.S
    Does not work with windows 7 ......... or sometimes! ( Edition......???)
    As I said earlier, I can download torrents with Vuze and U torrent or Bittorrent in Xp, and not in Windows 7.
    I changed the modem/router settings: 1. Shifted to PPP/PoE 2 Did port forwarding settings and 3. Used the same ip settings in both Xp and Win 7.
    Still I have problem with Win 7. The bandwidth test fails and NAT test reports error.
    2
    ...(a). No changes needed in modem.
    ....(b) check FW setting in Windows 7. ( windows Own )
    ..... (c) Zone alarm etc common to both OS>
    .............d)any other info.
    ..................( avoid LINUX OS details Post in LINUX forum. )
    ......................(e) whether VMware dual booting has some problem >
    .........................(f) presume surfing is OK with Windows 7......
    a). Thank you. I don't change anything.
    b). I disabled the Windows Firewall. I never used it. I use Zone Alarm Free Edition. Still I checked the Allow windows Firewall exception in U torrent to be on the safe side. (These settings are the same for both Xp and Win 7).
    c). Yes I have only Zone Alarm in both OSes. And Vuze and U torrent are allowed in the Program control.
    d). I have no Linux. I use Ubuntu as guest OS on my Virtual Machine. But that is not the immediate problem.
    e) VMWare works fine in Xp. I have even net connection there. But in Win 7 I have problems with VMWare Workstation 7. I mention the problems later so that the thread does not go off tangent.
    f). Surfing is excellent in Windows 7. No problem there.

    @meetdilip
    I will post the results with bridge mode tomorrow. Please bear with it.
    Thank you.

    From Google search:
    I've been having problems downloading ever since I upgraded to Windows 7. I switched from BitComet to Vuse because of compatibility issues with BitComet & win 7. In Vuse as with Bitcomit my download speed was very very slow after upgrading to windows 7, no matter what changes I made. Every now & then I would get a box from Windows that stated Vuse was incompatible with my system. I ignored this because I read that Windows 7 & Vuse were compatible. ( this happened with both the older edition & the new one just out) I allowed Windows to reset my Vuse settings. The settings used was XP sp2. Now it works fine. Lightening speed! Listening TCP port - 63507, UDP - 63508. hope this saves someone hours of time.
    search term: Vuze windows 7.
    Check your present version of Vuze. 4.5.?
    Which version of Windows 7 you use 32bit or 64 bit ?

    Sorry folks,
    I was away on some personal work for a few days. I could not surf the net. Hence the delay. I got utorrent working. But not vuze. On a tip provided by friend I uninstalled cleanly all the av/fw, and freshly installed them. That worked for utorrent. But not for vuze. I could port forward in utorrent. All the tests returned green, and I was having green smileys while downloading torrents. Thanks folks for the time you spared and pains you took to guide me. Though somehow I like vuze, I am now settling for utorrent.
    But my speed is around 28-30kBps for downloading. Is it a bit slow?
    My connection is 625UL plan, which offers 256kbps. What is the maximum speed that can be achieved with this plan?

    The speed you are getting is ok. Maximum speed will be 32 KBps. But anything that ranges in 28 - 30 range is good. Utorrent is a very good client, you will get used to it.
