Thread: Multiple Wifi devices on broadband

I have a little problem which might require attention of yours.

Till recently I was not able to connect Ipod touch to my AR800V v3.0 type2 BSNL modem. I switched to shared mode with pass phrase from open WEP authentication , Ipod in DHcP mode immediately got connected. , But, now Laptop connects only through LAN Cable not wifi ie. I m able to use laptop on lan and Ipod on wifi. but not both on wifi. Laptop settings are on automatic detection mode for both ethernet LAN and wireless. I am submitting resul of Ipconfig/all and Internet configuration from 192.168.1.1

Please let me know if there is way by which I can connect multiple devices to wifi.I have least idea about how to set router/modem etc. Please help. Thanku in advance

just change your laptop wifi adapter settings to "shared" instead of "open"...

AR800V v3.0 type2
(A)
Try to back up present modem/router settings to say C:/My Documents/ router on LAN
( see under Management Back up menu item)
(B)
Now you can access the router menu settings and in WAN page
(a) disable "Bridged" if selected and
(b) enable ppp/PPPoE mode box.
(c) follow instructions.
(d) in LAn page select DHCP box and enable it.
give a range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.10
(e) if UpNp box is seen enable it also.
(f) SAVE and reboot from Management option. wait for one or two minutes.

in network settings for both LAN and WLAN in tcp/ip
properties select obtain ip address automatically.

Boss, I was struggling with the prob from last two days, with your advice it took hardly a min to solve the prob. Thanx.. really i mean it thanx a lot...

...now, as a junior member, i request you and others to please suggest me some readings for building my understanding about these network things...

Without WLAN network settings in laptop, just by changing
to "shared" in wireless network card
you could access in wifi mode both laptop and iPod.
Please mention OS used.

IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR
However try to back up present settings in modem /wifi router to say C:/My Documents/AR800V working fine !
If not sure make Screenshots of ALL the router's settings pages.
