Question Model AR800V v3.0 - configuration problem and some other advice needed

    Hello to all,

I am really impressed with this whole forum and I must say it is greatly managed.

Now what brought me here is my new 500 C+ connection (night unlimited).
Also my lots of efforts to find the automated download for the night time with complete scheduling.

[Note that, I am absolutely at beginners level for the configuration and these blog system.]

I have still managed to find many relevant blogs and tried to do some of the configuration by my self but didn’t work.

I have AR800V v3.0 modem Manufactured at Chennai provided by BSNL.
Now I have read the following threads from this forum….

[I guess i can't add url at this stage so, just names]

    how-switch-pppoe-bridge-mode.html

    frequent-disconnect-ar800v-v3-0-wireless-2.html

    pppoe-vs-bridge-mode.html

    -bsnl-night-unlimited-laymans-review.html

    automate-download-night.html

Now, from all those threads what I understood is –
    1. I have PPPoE activated and if I want to make the connection through dialer then I have to change it to Bridge, But the first thread explaining the procedure does not apply to interface of my modem menu system, I even tried to find some and at part of ‘Edit’ I went but the ‘Bridge’ option was hidden (non accessible). So how do I do it?

    2. I ultimately need the whole procedure to start downloading according to schedule… I understood that some softwares and techniques are available to do exactly all those. But I guess it has been scattered in different threads.

    3. If the whole procedure is explained in details and with all the steps all together – from Bridge convert to auto dialer – then it would be Great for beginners like me.

    4. Also I guess there is some problem with this AR800V model (according some threads) – so, are there some precautions to take for that?

I will be waiting eagerly for my new learning in these things…

    Thanks….

with regard to shifting from bridge mode to pppoe mode and vice versa you need to delete the connection and add a new connection and configure the new connection. with vpi vci userid password etc.,

You should ensure Modem isswitched off around 0155AM/0755AM.
Modem to re start at about 0205 AM
To avoid overlapping modem "handshake" traffic with Bsnl server, auto updates etc and overlap of charged/free data usage.
Keeping the computer off/sleepmode/standby mode secondary.
    See Post No 2.
