    They are still to update about the plan in BSNL portal. Till then no confirmation is available. May be it is just a story.

    I am a existing BSNL broad band customer.I am using Home 500 plan.Now i want to change my plan to BB Home UL 499.I know it's downloadind speed is 256 Kbps .I am located at Thrissur,Kodakara circle(3 km from kodakara circle).What is the real downloading speed of BB Home UL 499 plan i mean exact speed , if that not available tell approximate speed.
    NOTE : "256kbps" is 256 Kilo BIT per second and NOT... 256 kilo BYTE per second...
    8bits = 1byte

    256kilobits=32Kilobytes...

    I heard that download 1GB it wold take approximately 8hr'50min which is almost 9hr... Taking The download as 32KiloByte.
    Is that TRUE?
    respond as soon as possible.

    Well yes it true to download 1Gb it will plus 9-10hr's

    I used to have UL750+ [that it was 256kbps]only

    it took me 6-7hr's to complete 700MB .....

    --------
    Better stick to the plan u have , coz downloading from 2am-8am [almost 6hr's] can download more than what keeping an 256kbps connection connected for 24hrs .. lolz...

    ---
    presently using Home Combo 600 [2.5GB ] Plus 2am-8am [Unlimited ]

    It will be same as previous UL 750. If your line condition is good, expect an average of 25 KBps. It will take one hour to download 100 MB.

    its better to go for UL750 as this plan has no free calls no free basic phone rental.
    499+180=679Rs.
    and taxes plus
    so add 100rs more and u can get double speed i.e512kbps
