Default Bsnl dataone bbhome combo ulf 900

I recently changed my Dataone Plan from BB Home 1000 ( upto 2 Mbps ) to BB Home Combo ULF 900 ( 4Mbps connection) . I have a UT300R2 ADSL modem. The change request disrupted my service for almost a week in the first week of Sept 2010. When the new plan was finally effected my user id, portal id and password were changed. Now I find that my browsing speed and download speed have come down drastically ( from average 200 MBps to 80 Mbps ) instead of improving. I am not able to connect to some sites even after 10 minutes. When I checked the connection with another modem borrowed from my friend ( Huwei ) the speed is normal and I am able to connect to the sites fast. But the download speed is no better than what I had earlier with 2mbps connection. Did anyone have similar experience ? Any suggestions

    Change mod mode to ADSL2+
or Port change might be required at BSNL end.

    Earlier, it was OK.
Also, the usage seems not updated in real time like it used to be.

    Mine in D Link GLB802c ADSL2+ Router
    UL900 plan says 4mbps
but my speednet alwaysshow 1.97mbps down and .95 up

I too am not happy with this plan speed nor with the portal changes etc
I was better off earlier. I was on BB1000

maybe your port speed from BSNL is not changed. It took me 3 days to get it changed. Ask them to upgrade your port speed. I upgraded from 2 Mbps to 8 Mbps plan was changed quickly but I was still getting 2 Mbps so I contacted exchange and got the port changed to 8 Mbps so that I can get my download speed.

Why do you need a port change ? What is the problem you are facing ?

Port changing is completely an internal issue and is not displayed in portal. My port was changed 2 times when I lost the DSL link. I was not able to connect to internet. So you need to convince them for a port change.

Please refer the question asked by 'ganapats' and answered by 'essbebe' and you. Though my plan has been provisioned, still I'm getting 1.59mbps download speed, which suppose to be 8mbps

It is a common problem. A few other members were also not getting 4 Mbps. Talk to the Senior Divisional Engineer and ask him to lift the cap.

it is a common mistake perhaps . the user can complain that the server appears not reconfigured to the new plan
there is a facility to know the configuration speeds of the server.
attaching a copy if a complaint is given, the management would change it

Called customer service representative when I was in office. She asked me to call back when I'm using the BB, they will test the speed and will set accordingly. Will do it either tomorrow or on Saturday.
