Default BSNL 8 MBPS 2799 Review

    Hi all!
I upgraded from UL 1350 to 8 Mbps 2799 plan which costs RS. 2799 per month. I submited the application on 9th Sep and also called the exchange and plan got changed on 10th but the speed of connection I got was just 2048 Kbps. The port used by BSNL was not changed so I contacted them again and it took them 2 more business days to fix it. On 15th ie Wednesday i finally got to experience 8 Mbps.

    Pros-
    1. Very High Speed on Downloads
I downloaded 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Movie 750 MB' and it took less then 20 minutes. Speed at torrents is always above 750 KBps. Id you use download acceleator with other downloads you can easily get 820-850 KBps that is very fast for me compared to 60 KBps.
    2. I was able browse web easily on other computers connected to router when one was downloading the torrent.
    Cons-
    1. Limit of 50GB
This is worse. I already killed more then 7 GB on first day and it is impossible to keep it below 50 GB.
    2. No Night Unlimited
There is no night unlimited and this sucks.
    3. Not much boost in browsing speed.
Browsing speed is still the same. Look like due to latency.
    4. Old upload speed
I am still getting crappy 25-30 KBps upload speed.

    Other info-
    My latency is 25dB
    SNR is 18 dB
    Downstream is 7998 Kbps

I think 15-20 GB is over in 2 days but I can't check because I have not got any email confirmation or password for selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in

^you can download any software like shaplus or bandwidth monitor but they show +100MB extra on 1Gb download and sometimes their speed shows in mbps even when u have speeds in kbps.

This is really sad you are getting very less Upload speed, I was planning to migrate to BSNL from my current Airtel , but its good you posted this and told that still ur upload is 300 KBPS.

I use router and my desktop and laptop and even mobile run wifi from that router so the bandwidth monitoring softwares are no use for me. I just hope that I get my pass for selfcare portal soon and I shouldn't have exceeded the limit as I am used to unlimited plans that I had.
