Question Bsnl Free Calls for their combo plans & BBG FN Combo600 users

    Hi

Do you guys know how the free calls are counted by Bsnl? I mean whats the call duration for a free call? I know that charged calls are Rs.1 at 60secs pulse.

Lately when I changed from Home 500C to 500C+(a.k.n.a. BBG FN Combo 600), I was expecting the 250 free calls limit for the new plan, but they messed that up and gave 202 calls free only, out of a total of 373 calls. Plus like I said its messed cause they have put 202 in the column for free calls & then below in the summary box they've put 200 free.

Anyone else using BBG FN Combo 600 plan who have had something similar happen to them?

Last thing, hmmn what's the point in updating the nomenclature for their plans if they are still going to use the old names on the payment bills. They still printed Home 500CP on my bill that I got this month. The bsnl portal however does show the latter names under active postpaid services. Oh well...

    Thanks for that link.
Not much help, I had already checked there before that's why I asked here.
The confusing part is/was the "MCU"(metered call units), there is no broad info provided by BSNL on that term.
As far as I've been able to find out, it varies according to the monthly plan. The free calls actually imply free minutes or whatever the pulse rate is for a certain call you make. So for example, if I'm on OneIndia plan, then I get charged Rs.1/min for calling anywhere in India. Since I'm on the 500C+ plan I get 250 minutes free. Conclusion, the duration of those 250 free calls is only a minute for each.
Yay! I answered my own thread lol

Default BBG FN Combo 500 free calls

175 free calls are there in my plan.
I assume they(free calls) are only for making local calls.

Does the free calls apply to call
    1) any mobile and landline, or
    2) is it like free only for BSNL mobile and BSNL landline or
    3) any mobile and BSNL landline?

Using free call, you can call to any no. Duration of the call varies according to the provider you are calling. If you call a land line, 1 call give 180 seconds. Similarly it varies across the providers. For an STD call lasts for just 60 seconds.

Hope it is clear now. If in doubt, feel free to ask.

It is not divided like local calls and STD calls. In 100 free calls, the pulse rate matter. Like 1 free call is counted only when you use 180 seconds on a land line to land line local call, but will expire in 60 seconds for a call to STD. The pulse rate think is same as One India plan.

Check this link for more details

now for BSNL-BSNL landline STD the pulse rate is 180 sec. so for a call upto 180 sec 1 MCU is counted. for longer calls is 1 MCU for every 180 sec plus 1 MCU for last fraction less than 180 sec.

accordingly based on your length of calls work out how long you can call. if you want to exhaust all 250 MCU in a single call then it would have to be 12 hours, 29 min and 59 sec long.

    @chinni0143
    My latest bill shows :
STD facility is being provided to all Customers, by default
as any call from BSNL Landline to Landline of any operator ,
anywhere in Indiawill be at local call rate of 3 minutes
    duration
. Hence customers , who do not wish to avail
STD may use dynamic lock option.
    3 minute Pulse Rate.

Always check your circle's web site for details. or call 1500.
