    Angry BSNL fraud!

    Hi guys!

Have been using BSNL 500 c+ only since two months and i must confess i am so angry with their service and support that i have decided to disconnect their internet connection in this month.

    Heres my (sad) story....

From the first month itself i had a lot of problems. I am usually a heavy down-loader and download about 75 GB per month. The first month itself i used to get good bandwidth every alternate day only. I tried raising complains to the CC but only in vain. I thought it may be problem with my system and hence i posted on this site asking suggestions. Well i finally confirmed that it was their server back-end problem. And from the start of this month the speeds have been crawling..... really. I called the CC again he told me that the speed varies from 256 kbps to 2mbps so i might have gotten 256 kbps. He told me to go to dataone website and test my speed. To my suprise it shows i have 1.46 mbps bandwidth! I decided to test it. i downloaded small files from sites like file-hippo, softpedia etc... to test his THEORY ( they generally give me maximum bandwidth while downloading any file) The download speed was ranging from 3KBPS to 10 KBPS. Thats almost 64 kbps!!. I then opened my modem page (192.168.1.1) and checked the SNR values. To my surprise the were very very poor. i called the CC. A lady lifted the phone. I explained her the problem that internet connection is very poor. She told she will complain the "HIGHER authorities" about it and the complain will be resolved by the next day. I gave this complain on 10th of this month. Then i waited for three days. No improvements. I called the cc again. A man lifted the phone. i told that i had given a complain and it had not been resolved yet. He told there was no complain registered in the first place!! He asked me weather i would like to make a new complain. I told him the problem and he registered the complain and gave me a docket no. He told it would be resolved by that day evening. Alas it did not happen. The next day i called again and said my complain is pending. They said it would be rectified by that day no doubts. And it went on till yesterday. Yesterday i got so annoyed that i called up CC and literally threatened them telling that if the issue had not been solved by today i will disconnect the internet bby this month. they assured me it will be done. And it was not.. Today i called up again asking the status. To my surprise they said the complain had been closed!! WTF?? I told her my problem had not been resolved and how an they close it? She said she didnt know and hung-up the phone.

I decided i had enough and i told my parents to disconnect the internet.
I will probably take a connection from my local operator who provides 1mbps for 600 PM! UL ! well only downside is static ip. Dynamic ips allowed me to download from sites like rapidshare fast.

So people don't believe dataone bandwidth tests. They are absolutely false.

I will post some screens to prove it.

Your line condition appears to be bad with snr of about 6 db.
    Only BSNL can rectify it.
Anyway try tcp optimizer from speedguide.net and select otimal values.
    Check speed here.

instead of calling the CC, i suggest you catch hold of a BSNL lineman who is used to repairing the landline....it appears to be a cable fault and he can fix it..
