Thread: DNA-A211-i reset problem

I am using DNA-A211-I ROUTER (TYPE 2) which was provided by bsnl ,

and today i tried to upgrade my modem firmware , but the process didn't completed and was given some damm reason ...

after that my router stopped working , wlan and inet LED'S were off...
Ip-packets are been sent from the server but my connection is unable catch them....also unable to access the router page (192.168.1.1) ... i thought the bsnl server in area must b down but when i connected the router ( DNA-A211-i , borrowed from my friend ) and it worked me posting this thread..

after that i tried to reset my router but it was not reseting.... yeah but i was able to reset the router of my friend (same model)

does any-body know the reason....??? plz help my friend need her router back soon

I tried to update my router through motive

Got error message when the process had reached the " registration step " , where it was unable to ping the server .... and thus given an error of which one was
""could not connect to server , either retry or contact Bsnl ""

If you cannot access 192.168.1.1 admin admin
Try for exchange at Bsnl CC inform about problem with motive software.

Now i m stuck up.... BSNL cannot exchange my router bcoz its been 15 months from the date i purchased this DNA-A211-i router

can u suggest me a good router .... whether to go for IBALL BATON , LINKSYS , NETGEAR , D-LINK .....or any other....

please help !!!!

You need an ADSL Modem to connect to Internet.
In addition a wifi router to connect in wireless mode ( no wires) any laptop you use.
Cost for both units will be about Rs 1000+ Rs say Rs 1500/=
or a three in 0nelike DNa 212 Type II will cost more than Rs 3000/=

Being in Mumbai you have a choice of dealers, who normally
give 1 year replacement guarantee.

i can afford a router till Rs.3500 , and looking for ....
1) good wi-fi range and
2) easy configuration setup

some of my friends are suggesting D-LINK (but they say its a good router but little messy configuration setup)

i had asked a retailer for iball baton , which cost around Rs.2800 and have a 3 year warranty ( dont knw whether its replacement warranty or not )

based on these can u suggest me a which 1 should i go for ( iball or d-link ) ?

you are not specific in your requirements for WIFI range .
Good Range may mean 100 feet or 100 meters.
or height of 100 feet etc .
Preferable to have an ADSL modem and a 2N wifi router
with dual antenna ( Buffalo (high priced) or netgear lower price .)

If any problem in WIFI range at least internet can be available
from ADSL modem. If ADSL modem fails ( single unit or combined unit) no relief !
