Thread: Fraudulent BSNL agent in T. Nagar, Chennai.

Hi,
I applied for BSNL broadband connection through an agent named "Devices & Technologies". The person name is Raman. He took 1600rs for wi-fi Modem and 500rs as Security deposit. The connection came in 2 days and BSNL offered Type-1 modem on 3rd day. But, unable to contact the person and he did not provide any modem. So, Now I have to pay BSNL for providing modem. Please beware of these fraudulent agents.

BSNL should take necessary actions on these kind of agents. Please be aware that no amount needs to be given, while applying for broadband connection. All charges will be included in first month bill.

Tough BSNL is doing good now-a-days, these fraudulent agents should be identified.

Try complaining to BSNL authorities. Hope they have some method to identify him.

Why would anybody arrange a BSNL connection through an agent? Just go direct to them.

I deleted the personal details of the agent you are talking about. It is just not fair posting someone's mobile number here and choosing to remain anonomous yourself! It just doesnt make sense to me.
If you have a problem with a Bsnl agent go file a complaint in some small claims court. This forum is not a place to resolve your personal issues and we only allow ISP reviews not your local agent.

If you need a Bsnl connection go to their local office and apply there instead of going through an agent.

Dear admin and all members who suggest to take connection directly from Bsnl and not from a agent...... Here's why... i have been trying to get a connection from Bsnl poonamallee for the past three years and i still havent got any reply... bsnl people here do not work at all...... And as for agents plz someone suggest me a good agent.

How many times you visited the Nearest Exchange ?
Did you give a filled up form for new telephone/BB connection ?
Do you have a BSNL landline in use ?

2. You can book online here ( No need to log in )
( If you cannot go to the Exchange and depute someone to get the form.)
UDAAN PROJECT -- BSNL
A Franchisee may call within a week and keep necesssary documents,
like ID/ house Property Tax PP photo etc.
Do not pay cash even if demanded. Pay by Cheque Payable to
A.O (TR) BSNL.
If no positive action
make a complaint here

I have visited the exchange for 2 years (at least once a month) before i gave up. The exchange is poonamallee BSNl.
No i did not give a online form coz they claim that filling up form is no use as they said the following reasons

Reason 1: There is on connection near my house(actually there are more than 5 connections around my house which took 1 year for the latman to verify).

Reason 2: Is that they want me to take connection from mangadu exchange which is close to my but the problem is there is no such exchange as of now. Govt has only approved An exchange in mangadu which i assume will be establlished only after 5 years or so .

Now i have a reliance WI-max connection for which i pay twice the amount for half the bandwith.

After reading this forum i have approached a BSNL Shoppee and they said that they will check if whether a connection is possible to my house.

No i dont have a bsnl landline now.

Can the neighbour help you & ask for a Broadband connection, and you can use
it in your location. A wifi router is required. What is the distance. involved ?
He has to keep only the modem/router on Power used less than 10W /hour.

Apply for a BSNL Landline connection first.As soon as someone surrenders a connection,you may get it.

Surprised, that in Chennai you cannot get a BSNl landline connection!
Check whether WLL/BSNL Wimax facility is available . Do you come under some Rural Exchange etc.
Give feedback.
You can send an Email to G.M Chennai circle as a last resort.

have you checked whether BSNL provides EVDO connection in your area. Could be a much cheaper option. Alternatively you can also check if BSNL has 3G signal there.
