    Default BSNL Broadband Modem confusion

    Hi All,

    I am looking forward to get a Combo Unlimited-650 plan for my uncles home .We are willing to get it by paying minimum amount . Following are the options I have, Can you please tell me which will be most economical:

    1. Buy New Modem from BSNL [ 1000 + 250}
    2. Get used Modem for Rs 500 and Pay installation charges [500+500}
    3. Get Modem on Rent for Rs 50 [ 50+500+500...Rent+Security+Installation]

    Can anyone tell me if these figures are correct and How much i am required to pay to get Unlimited-650 Combo Plan.

    Thanks

    If BSNL provides u modems like zte or other Chinese ones, these modems give services at most 2-2.5 years.
    A big no-no for Chinese used modem.

    If Chinese modem is provided by BSNL then it's better to use the rented one, as they shall replace it any time without any cost.

    Other options are to use other brands like D-link, but biggest problem is BSNL says, if subscriber does not use their modem then it's the sole responsibility at subscribers end to configure the modem.

    If u or your vendor can configure the modem, then only think of going for other brands.

    Why waste money on bsnl modems go for Iball ADSL2+ modem with the latest adsl2 protocols updated 3yrs plus warranty and costs 1300 only.Gives the same speed as BSNL modems and much easier to configure.

    Menu pages appear in color RED.!!
    In IBallBaton model wifi may not be available.

    If you have dare, you can look for 2nd hand modems from Europe. They are usually very cheap, so you pay only shipping charges.

    I'm using Ericsson and Siemens modems imported, very reliable in Indian summer :-)
