    Question Upstream speed for Home 500 user

    Hi,

    I am a BBG FN 500 user (Home 500 night unlimited) and have found that I am getting Downstream 2048 kbps and Upstream 256 kbps. Is this normal?[refer - currently.jpg]

    I have tried setting my MT882 modem adsl mode to ADSL2+, but Operation mode in the status page still shows G.Dmt
    [refer - currently-2.jpg]

    I am transferring to BBG FN Combo 600 to save on the rental. I am hoping maybe my upload speed will increase to at least 512 kbps. Certain users I have seen having that, how can I get the same.

    Please inform me of the steps I need to take to increase my upload speed (which currently hovers between 24 - 26 kBps) to atleast >50 kBps. Uploading files is a drag at my current speed.

    The speed you are seen in router it is normar and OK, changing to plan which giving you the download speed within 2Mbps wont help you to upgrading the line port speed.

    For changing the port speed do this trick if possible

    Apply for IP TV if it's available in your area and giving it back after a month or using it continue if you want. Applying for IP TV will upgrade the port speed.

    or you can apply for 8MBps plan, it will also upgrade the port speed.

    @ gaju123

    Talk to someone knowledgeable at BSNL and ask them to fix the issue. If nothing works, call Nodal officer or Appellate authority and seek help. ID and phone no. on the backside of your bill.

    @Indranil

    Well I only saw one 8mbps plan which would be the BBG Speed Combo 2799 [Data limited plan] @Rs.2799 per month... No way I can afford that...

    Otherwise I find there is
    1. BB Home Combo ULF 900 [Unlimited plan] which gives 4mbps speed upto 8gb and,
    2. BB Home Combo ULF 1400 [unlimited plan] which gives 4mbps upto 25gb.

    Would changing to ULF 900 for 1 month and then changing back to BBG FN 600 combo, increase my port speed and keep it there.

    Also I saw IPTV charges, initial costing would be around Rs. 2400, quite expensive for a service to just take for 1 month and give it back....

    Not sure what to do at this stage,

    @meetdilip

    Talking to someone knowledgeable at BSNL would be most productive I guess, but I am not sure what port upstream port speeds BSNL is actually promising. What do I say to such a person to get him/her to consider upgrading my port speeds.
    At a loss here, hoping someone can help me with a good suggestion.

    Thanks for your help guys....

    Your upstream speed is half of what it should be.
    I am also using 500 and my upstream speed is 507kbps and I get 45-50KB/s up.

    Yes, it will increase your port speed if all is go well and after changing back it will remain same in most cases.
