Thread: BSNL Bill - Exceeded Broadband Usage

hello,

i want to know few things about BSNL Bill. my broadband usage has exceeded the download limit for this month.

zone - up west (Bareilly)
plan - combo 600
speed - upto 2 mbps
night unlimited - 2 to 8
download limit - 2.5 gb
charges beyond download limit - 0.5 Rs/mb

i have accidentally downloaded 4.5 gb this month (put a torrent on force downloading), now i want to know - will i have to pay for the extra 2 gb or it will be counted in the next month? (note - i have payed 1 year charges for broadband i.e. Rs 6000)

Is there any scheme named "samadhan" by BSNL?

1. You have to pay the excess amount. It will be accounted in this month itself. Samadhan scheme is not for current users. I think it is for people who already got disconnected.

2. Switch to UL 750 or UL 499. Gives 512 and 256 Kbps unlimited respectively.

3. For excess usage beyond 1 GB, there is a discount option I think for the 1st GB, you need to pay 50 paise per MB. For next 1 GB there is a discount of 15 GB. Lost the link.

I am not sure if it still exists. But when announced, it was not a promotional offer.

so after 2.5 gb, next 1 gb (50 paise/mb), for next 1 gb i will get 15 gb

Suppose you have 2 GB extra for 1st 1 GB, you will pay 50 paise * 1024 MB =
Rs. 512. But for the next one GB you need not pay full Rs. 512. Here you have to pay 512 - (0.15*512). Hope it is clear now.

I have broadband connection & currently on limited combo plan of 1111. I have actually placed application for unlimited plan of 1350 but lost the receipt of it. Now, I have recieved a bill from BSNL of Rs.15,000. Also, I have availed SAMADHAN yojna of BSNL before, so what are the options available to me ?

Talk to the accounts officer. That is your only way out. You should have been careful after your previous experience.

Use a bandwidth meter to keep track of your usage. Shaplus or Networx will do.

Switch to an unlimited plan. UL 499, UL 625 (both 256 Kbps) or UL 750, UL 750 Combo (both 512 Kbps) will be ok.
