Thread: DataOne & IPTV on WA1003A simultaneously!

I have a desktop PC running on Win7. I’m using DataOne broadband with Huwei Quidway WA 1003A modem/router. My PC is connected via LAN port on modem. Now I’ve got BSNL IPTV connection. Since there is one one LAN port on modem I’ve to change the respective cables to use broadband and IPTV. Please let me know if there is a way to use both the things simultaneously without changing the modem.

P.S. I do not want to go for a new modem (type-2) because J&K BSNL is not providing the exchange facility against my present functional modem. Also, I'm not sure about IPTV service and I'm keeping the option of deactivating IPTV if it does not suits my expectations. Buying a type-2 modem will be useless then!

You can have Broadband in WIFI mode. USB port may not work for BB with Windows 7.

Ask for same Type II with 4 lan ports. ( check main menu in Calcutta telephones website. usually sl2-141 or teracom models.

ADSL splitter MUST for PHONE.

you can add a Netgear wifi router ( or a 4 way switch)
WGR614 V9 , which has 4 lan ports and wifi mode also.
Rj45 from your present modem will go to INPUT port of WIFI router.

Yes, you can use without changing the modem. Go to Market and ask for the 4 port or 8 port switch. Now connect a cable from your modem to a switch port and another cable from your Computer Lan to switch port and another cable from your SED to switch port.
