    Default Complaint for slow Speed

Since yesterday night I am getting slow speed , slow download speeds no youtube video download possible also I am able to surf only. TOday morning also same problem persisting. This weekend sat, sun I have leave and am at home only so want to download movies etc, sat is leave gandhi jayanthi, so tell me what should I complaint to BSNL today so that within today evening they will give full speed also I will be in office so cant check at home, can I just call exchange and demand to speak to engineer and give him my telephone number and ask him to check the parameters nad status. BEcause I feel this is purely software problem and not a hardware / line issue.

Kindly advise what type of complaint shall I file.

    1. Talk to the Senior Divisional Engineer and seek help.

    2. Hope you have tried this

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

    3. Try a download from Microsoft and report the speed here.

THanks i filed online complaint, and also can view the status of complaint online the problem is speed is normal for some website, a normal torrent is downloading at 150 KB/s . But while surfing I am not getting speed on some sites like bwtorrents , and others its taking hell time to load, whereas gmail and google is loading really fast. ;( ANy solution to this.

Are you referring to Rapidshare and other similar sites ? They normally give around 40 - 50 KBps for free users. You need to get a premium account to get higher speed than that. You can try

    1. Use a good download manager like Internet Download Manager (IDM).

    2. Use TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net

    3. Download more than one file at a time etc

No no bro I am using internet from many years, earlier dial up, and now BB since 2006, but now since past 2-3 days I can FEEL the speed has decreased, dead slow loading of some sites which used to load in ziffy earlier. Also downloading from sites which were more than 50-60 KB/s now give only 2 or 3, as a free user sometimes I get more than 70KB/s on Rapidshare in Level 3 server, . Even speed test takes lots of time to load, but when its testing it shows normal speed and good DL / UL Speeds. Seems the speed is fluctuating. From past some days I have observed this so I posted. Will see what action will they take on my complaint.

Even Facebook is taking too much time to load ;( , but this site loads fast. so i can post easily.

-- online complaint seems to work fast today at 08.30 am i received a call from BSNL, asking about internet told them the problem.

Yes, i too facing the same slow connection last couple days (in Chennai). It is irritating to contact customer support, even after 15 mins wait, my call was not attended... ;-(

Dont know when the problem will be resolved... I can browse only web pages with plain txt... No you tube or a file download of 1 mb... ;-(

Yes but their speed of attending complaints is fast, I thought today is holiday gandhi jayanthi but the cust care working fast, due to lightning many times our phone goes dead, but internet keeps working ADSL light is on , and then we need to call the exchange to rectify it. Today also in morning same thing happened lightining and phone went dead and I registered online complaint and immediately in 2-3 hrs it came back to life, and when he called to confirm I asked him about slow internet he told its server problem ( i am also in chennai) and will be solved soon.

Me and my friend have both UL 750 plan and we've been facing downtimes/terribly slow speeds since about 6 days now. The irony is that download speed on torrents is 50-60 KB/s no matter how fast or slow the browsing speed is.

    There's something wrong..

I too have the same speed problem for the past 2-3 days . The best way to register a broadband complaint from chennai is to use the SMS feature . You will surely get a response from BSNL in the very next working day . They have told me that the slow connection is due to some server problem and will get resolved in few days. Happy browsing .

I have received a reply, regarding a similar complaint to BSNL as below:

"We sincerely regret for the problems being faced by you. But the problem is in our bandwidth provider's network. There is a optical fiber cable break down under sea near Indoneasia and hence the speed is affected. The restoration work is going on and might take some time please. Kindly bear with us please."
