    Unhappy surfing problem

around 2 days back i got this problem.. i have a BSNL 512 kbps unlimited plan. so the download speed is around 60. the problem is that the download speed is fine but the websites just dont load at instant.. they take time as if its some 64kbps net connection. i complained to the BSNL people and they ask me if i am getting my normal speed and i say yes for which they say there is some problem in your system itself plz recheck but my pc is running fine... but now the surfing is back to normal..

can anyone plz tell me what the problem is so that i can explain the dumbheads of BSNL. the next time..

May be an issue with the DNS values. Try changing to 208.67.222.222 , 8.8.8.8 to avoid this next time.

    control panel->network & internet->manage network connections->LAN

->properties->internet protocol version 6->use the following DNS server

there u can type DNS addresses of your choice.

You can get some idea how quickly DNS is working for you by using the ping command in a command window

    C:\> ping www.indiabroadband.net
    PING indiabroadband.net (96.30.37.142) 56(84) bytes of data.
^^^^This line, showing the resolved address, should come up pretty instantly.

Your system caches addresses. Do this when you have just rebooted, or with a URL you haven't used since you booted.

No scientific measurement here, just gives you an idea!

There are tools that check out a number of DNS servers and tell you which is the quickest for you. Worth trying.

Also, for windows, worth looking at Treewalk. There is no DNS closer and faster than our own machine!

<crossposted> Sorry, I have no idea about Vista or 7.

    try this:
To immediately open the connection list,
you can just type ncpa.cpl into the Start menu search box:

    Also create a shortcut:
Just use C:\windows\system32\ncpa.cpl as the location of the shortcut.
