Thread: unable to connect two computers from Nokia siemens router 1600

    Exclamation unable to connect two computers from Nokia siemens router 1600

    Today I have brought Nokia siemens networks residential router 1600.

    I have one desktop and Laptop.I am able to connect only one computer from it,when I try to dial on another computer its showing phone line busy.I used Wifi for laptop and Ethernet for Desktop.
    I have setup bridging connection in WAN setup.



    plz someone help!

    1.
    In modem Uncheck "Bridged" and select PPP/PPPoE mode
    ( enter userId and PW in wan page )
    2.
    Enable DHCP in modem ( Usually in Lan page
    give range 192.168.1.3 to say 192.168.1.10)
    3.
    In both systems Network settings TCP/IP properties
    select obtain Ip address automatically.
    4.
    Bookmark link wa 3002_g4 . menu pages may be same.

    Its not connecting with PPPoE mode for any computer.

    Sorry. I am on User Acct on a Mac OS system
    Unable to unzip the file. ( no application seen)

    Did you follow exactly Chennai website settings as shown in screen shots ?

    2.
    Just copy/paste this data here ipconfig /all
    and Screen shot of connection status of modem/router.
    3

    Disable the "Dialer" icon in Network settings page.
    4.
    Mention Browser used.
    if IE8 in intrnet options/ advanced connections
    select Never dial a connection.

    2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

    Type 192.168.1.1/main.html
    In Advanced options
    Select WAN
    Uncheck"Bridged"
    Select PPP/PPPoE
    next
    enter user Id and PW
    etc Save reboot.
    Check Lan mode rj45 connection.
    Post only LAN and wlan details for Ip config.
    Rest can be deleted to avoid scrolling the page.

    Go to mangement and BACKUP current settings of modem
    to say C:/My Documents/NSN 1600 working

    hi ...
    i am having the same kind of problem with the same modem.....i have two computers(both run xp) i need them connected....but every time i try to do it...only one connects and the other does not....when i then try to connect the other one...it says phone line is busy.............i tried to follow the methods you outlined here...but actually could not follow it..(sorry i am new to this)...so please help me out.....and please give a detailed method....thanks a lot..

    check my signature link for wa3002-g4.
    go through the thread posts and screen shots posted by
    @shrinath in post no.6.
    Basically:
    1. you should use "AlwaysOn"PPP/PPPoE mode.
    ( UserId/pw entered in wan page)
    2.
    Enable DHCP give range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
    ( usually in LAN settings page).
