Seems Beam is restricted to Hyderabad/Secunderabad area
Does not appear, the user/customer can do any tweaking.

How Does Beam’s Internet on Fiber Solution Work?

* The Beam IDC connects to your Building / Premises over our Fiber optic network.
* We Install the BONT Box (Beam Optical Network Terminator)at the premises of the building. The BONT Box is the junction between your computer and the Beam’s Internet on Fiber Grid.(BONT Size : 15.2in x 15.2in x 3.1in; Power Consumption 5 units per month.)
* The BONT is a secure standalone unit with built in power back up. The electricity connection to the box has to be given by the subscriber.
* From the BONT, a Standard Ethernet cable is connected to the desktop/laptop/router of the end user.
* Internet Access is now available.
* The elctricity connection to the box has to be given by the subscriber.

Is this cable, adsl or wireless or what? I will add this new subforum if someone can shed some light on how they provide broadband so I know what section to put it under.

I no technical expertise but when the company rep comes over to give the connection he says its "fiber optic cable". Whatever that means.

Basically they just give a wire which we can plug it into our ethernet port and boom, we are on. No modem.
