    Default regarding fine setting of dlinl 802 glb router

    plz tell-

    (1)IGMP is presently disabled,should it be enabled?

    (2)Get LAN Address is manual. should it be changed to external/internal DHCp server.

    (3)annex mode config is automatic and handshake protocol is ADSL+ auto.
    tried to change it to GDMT but error message came-
    Error: Invalid combination of Standard and Annex Type specified

    (4)dns server primary i chose is -8.8.8.8(google);


    plz opine.

    IGMP is presently disabled,should it be enabled?
    No.
    (2)
    Get LAN Address is manual. should it be changed to external/internal DHCp server.
    Not clear. LAN address is for ac.cessing modem menu pages
    Usually 192.168.1.1
    (3) Select annex adsl2 and gdmt

    add 208.67.220.220 also ( opendns)
    Enter in TCP/IP properties page also.

    (1)u are jewel of this forum,majority of times u are the first boarder who comes for help.

    (2)how & where to do that Gdmt setting-

    i could find this page only-



    (3) DNS server 8.8.8. 8 dont get saved.
    i shall change in TCP/ip properties.

    @EB: one more thing,changed in IPv4 properties.

    should i do the same for Ipv6 too?

    (2) click "handshake protocol" down arrow to select Gdmt..
    Also Annex Mode : now auto. click down arrow and see Annex A available.

    ensure 8.8.8.8 and not 8.8.8. 8

    IPV6 to be disabled.

    it does not get saved in modem.
    ie services->DNS
    any server's ip address saved disappears when modem is restarted.

    confirm connected to Internet and can surf all web sites.

    copy/paste data here : after disabling IPV6
    procedure :
    Start RUN type cmd
    OK.
    New window
    type ipconfig /all

    Test speed here.
    speedtest.net. Say Brisbane server.

    .(old No 3 )
    IPV6 to be disabled
    Start Network LAN properties
    Network settings page
    Uncheck IPV6 box.

    presently both ip address and DNS server are auto.
    from 8 select tcp/ip box
    click properties
    Ip address obtain Ip addressss automatically
    enter dns entries
    apply save.

    yes, but with random link failure.

    ps: though I unchecked IPV6 still it's value appearing in the snap shot.

    @Inquisitive

    Presume Connection is reasonably stable now.
    If possible Back up present settings ( search Management/Backup menu)
    to say C:/My Documents /Glb802C settings.
