    Hey,
Now you will be getting 512 Kbps unlimited for Rs.750. You told that it is 256 Kbps which is wrong. Modem rental will be charged for all plans below Rs.750 (if modem is taken on rental basis).

    @sank
If you are not interested in speed Home 499 is Ok. (256Kbps)
Also check difference in Home combo U/l 750 No telephone rent.
    No free telephone calls.

    Rs.499 + modem rent Rs.80 + Telephone rental (@ Rs.110) + service tax 10.3 % = Rs.759.967.

    Better you take Rs.750 plan : Rs.750 + (no rental for phone and modem) + 10.3 % service tax = Rs.827.25.

    [http]://[img521.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=capturefh].[jpg] -remove the brackets

i cant upload imgs as i'm newly registered , it says i shld hav atleast 15 thrds.

    acc to the speed test

    date 18/8/2010
    dl-3.33Mbps
    ul-0.70Mbps

    date 31/10/2010
    dl-2.43Mbps
    ul-0.59Mbps

these are the speed test for UL750
as per the dates from above imgs, 2 months before i was having more speed than today and till now i'm paying the bill amount 750 for my internet connection which was for 256 kbps (last checked 3 months before).

Should i demand for more speed i.e 512kbps as per the new plan or is this what i should get.

Yes. You must get 512 Kbps (64 KB/s) unlimited speed. Call 1504 (toll free) and file a complaint.

Click this link and see :

UL 499 is available all over India. You can select it if you need an economical unlimited plan. I am using UL 750, I get around 64 KBps from good servers.

    This may help

Also post your SNR and attenuation values.

Better you take rs.750 combo plan. Total usage will come to rs.827 approx (rs.750 + 10.3% tax and no modem rental).
is it really no modem rental for ul 750 in every area or selected areas

Look at my previous message. If you want, get BB Home Combo UL 625 ( visit : http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/new_BB...only_unlim.htm ) plan and look at your phone bill. Make sure that you have opted for modem on RENTAL BASIS.

I have 550Home plan and i am getting torrent speed about 8-10kbps and for MF,HF,MU........etc i am getting avg 150kbps.
What is the reason for such a huge difference? Please see if you know.

    1. You may need port forwarding. Do you see an Yellow triangle on the bottom of utorrent ? Post a screen shot of your torrent client.

    2. Mention your modem - model and make.

    3. Try this

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

    4. Which firewall do you use ? Disable it and try.

    5. Switch off your antivirus and check.

There are some hacks. But not worth the trouble. Mostly malwares. Better adjust with the current speed.

You know very well that you will get only the SPEED of your connection and the speed of all file hosting sites will be slow. If you want get premium membership and download.
