Of these, UL 499 and UL 625 are the stars. They are new and quite useful for those who need an unlimited plan which suits their budget.

UL 625 was there before. But it was limited to Hyderabad, Gujarat and one other circle. It was made a public plan along with the launch of UL 499.

UL 750 is a good plan among all unlimited plans launched by BSNL........as compared to Airtel 799(in m.p.) providing 512 kbps till 8 GB afterthat 256 kbps.....But in UL 750(Bsnl),there is throughout 512 kbps.......

Check out the MTNL plans and tariff. You will faint.

I am using UL 750. Quite happy with it. May be one day it will become 1 Mbps unlimited.

You should pay Rs.80 per month in additional for all plans below Rs.750. So Rs.625 + Rs.80 + Service tax (10.3% on both) will come to Rs.Rs.777.615.

Better you take Rs.750 Combo plan. Total usage will come to Rs.827 approx (Rs.750 + 10.3% tax and no modem rental).

I use BSNL UL 750 Plan. I got a 20 % discount as my father is a government employee. I'm quite satisfied with it, the only issue is that i get high pings while playing online games (near 350ms, and yes they are Indian servers).
Reliance provides 1 Mbps unlimited connection for Rs. 1100 (Cheapest 1 Mbps UL plan among other ISPs) and 600 Kbps for Rs. 750 in the Combo Plans. And that's the reason we had all the telephone lines for Reliance booked and i had to go with BSNL Broadband >

Reliance may have fair usage limit beyond which the speed will get reduced. Remember that they will not care if you make a complaint in private companies. You get full refund guarantee of deposit in BSNL. In private companies, they will deduct the deposit (for various false reasons) if you are surrendering the connection.

The 499 Plan will be made Permanently Fixed.
I think so because Bsnl launches the new Unlimited Plans for 90 Days, but later they are changed to Permanent.

Once opted, the plan is for ever. It is the offer that is only for 90 days.

    @sudhakar35

No i read the tariff carefully, there's no usage limit. But obviously there would be a 80-100 GB usage limit per month which is the case with every ISP.
Yes, I do agree that the service of Reliance is bad.

Stay with BSNL itself. Nice service.

You will get good speed if :

    > there is no parallel line before line and splitter.
    > the line is connected DIRECTLY to the splitter and not to the modem directly.
    > your system does not have any virus, spyware or malware.
    > your system is properly defragmented.
    > system restore set to off.
    > indexing service (in your system) is stopped and disabled.
    > telephone wiring is proper.

@sudhakar35 BSNL service is good, but not in every region.
Not being offensive but i think that points 4,5 and 6 are useless.
    1. "One should not disable system restore" System restore is very important incase something gets messed up or even if the system gets affected by virus (i don't think anyone should turn it off).
    2. "Defragmentation doesn't affect the download speed much (but if u have a super fast internet, defragmentation will increase the speed)" Defragmentation is required but for the bandwidth of 512 kbps / 64 KBps or upto 2 Mbps its completely useless.
    3. "Don't use windows indexing service" Indexing service doesn't affect the download much (or not at all). I don't use the Windows Indexing service cause it sucks, instead i use "Everything" a third party free software which is way way wayyyy..(yes, i mean it)..faster

    > Taking image through Norton Ghost is much more reliable than system restore. System restore leads to disk fragmentation.

    > If your hard disk is defragmented fully, then only it can handle the displaying of webpages fast. If it is fragmented it keeps on running and i may hang for a while.

    > Go and ask anyone whether indexing service is useful or not.

    1.
System Restore is required , but too many load the windows folder.
Ccleaner from filehippo.com has provision to delete one by one
all SR points except the latest. You may find this an useful facility.
    2.
I also shifted all Update and Uninstall files of Windows OS to a different folder.

but these UL plans offers very low download speeds.....
    For me speed id important....
So that i chooose COMBO 600 Plan which has 2.5 GB download Limit and Night Unlimitted
I will only use the broband for downloading....so that i always schedule my computer to turn on @ 2:15 am morning and Shutdon @ 8:00 am within that time frame my Bittorrent appication will transfer 3-4 GB between 2:00 - 8:00 am...
And am very happy about that beecause i will get 5-6 movies downloaded each day

Stop talking bad about unlimited plans. Ok?. If speed is important get out of India and go to Japan or go to city area and get BSNL 3G unlimited for Rs.1499 + service tax.
