Unhappy Dataone Broadband Usage Portal not opening ...

This story started with change of my BSNL landline number and of some other BSNL users in Behala Telecom circle (Kolkata). From the day of the change there was no broadband and ADSL light in my modem was not glowing. First I thought it was a minor technical glitch but as this was going on for more than 4 days I was compelled to call one of my relatives who works at BSNL. She told me that as some of the numbers have changed in our telecom circle this would certainly take some time ... about one week. After 1 week of waiting finally yesterday around 5:30pm I saw that my ADSL link was on. Then I tried to connect the broadband using my username & password & I saw a error 691 (invalid username password warning) ..... All the evening I kept on restarting the modem and dialling the username & password but no luck. Today morning I called up the same relative and she told me that the username and password have changed and gave me the new username & password.. It worked but on trying to check my usage detail portal [http://10.240.43.216/webLogin.jsp] the webpage didn't open and the other website for checking Dataone broadband usage didn't work too .....

So what is wrong with BSNL !!!?????

Has anyone in the same or other telecom circle experienced this strange problem ????

Till the issue is solved, use a bandwidth meter. Shaplus or Networx will do.

Check your IP if 117.xx.xx.xx try in dataone.in with 14digit portalID and PW.
If 59.xx.xx.xx try with old USERIDand password.
Still unable to access usage portalscomplain to CC.
standbyusage meter : download application NetworX or Shaplus

Portal ID is a 14 digit code used to check usage details at data.bsnl.in. Call your local exchange. They keep it in their records.

    1.
Confirmation was needed. Effective date 7th Oct 2010.
Your free Day quota will be 2.5/30 x 24= 2 GB approx.
    2.
Probably the metering has been modified to show in Summary, Chargeable units, when you exceed your free day usage.
    Total Volume shows 4.11GB]

    3.
you get same 0 bytes for usage during 02AM to 08AM.
    .( some overlapping time seen)

The summary used to show Chargeable units ( less Free NU)
and we used to deduct our free quota say 1GB 1.5GB 2.5GB etc
    4.
Please keep track of your day usage.
( Applications NetworX/Shaplus has provision to disable D/L recording for specific time block.)
    5.
We may have to wait for Bill for October to confirm (2) above.

But the summary also shows '0' chargeable units during daytime which is weird ....!!!!

I think something is wrong with the portal from BSNL side ...

Don't take risk. Stop heavy downloading. You may end up with a huge bill. Call BSNL and resolve the issue.

    .

    I agree with @meetdilip's post
Probably the meter has been set for a U/L tariff plan .
Time to talk to J.T.O (BB)

Since September BB usage has not been billed try
UNBILLED. option if available. (or check August Billed/unbilled )
or if bill is already prepared usage data should show.

Called BSNL ... they said as new DSLAM has been installed so correct readings will show after 2 weeks i.e from 21th Oct (7th Oct + 14 days). I asked why but they were unable to provide me an explanation. So I've to wait till 21th Oct to see the usage details ....
