Default need help in configuring dataone wa3002g4.

    hello everyone,

I'm new to the both bsnl broadband user family and this forum. i'm a bsnl 625 unlimited user from andhra pradesh. my modem is dataone wa3002g4.

my query is how to configure my modem for using it without a username and password so that i can connect it to my ebook reader(nook) for web browsing etc. i can connect it at my friend's home, who's also using the bsnl broadband with same modem and plan. i can access the dsl router website, but i very much confused with too many options etc. please assist me in step by step fashion. i've been trying for many days but in vain.

    best regards

i've already seen some threads on the same question. but didn't understood clearly.it will be great help to me if anyone could explain me.

you can configure other parameters without user name and password, but can't use it.
with your password , you cant use at your friends broadband. perhaps you have to use his username and password.

As you are already on net, I can safely assume that your modem is configured and working. what is the actual problem, if you are able to browse?

Smile configuring modem for auto dial router mode

    Hi Essbebe
Thanks for your efforts and time for helping amateurs like us with your valuable guideance
My Wi-Fi on laptop - DELL Latitude was working fine with the Modem - UTSTARCOM WA3002-G4 with broadband connection - BSNL
Was trying to connect my wi-fi enabled mobile via the same modem but on the mobile the same was showing as connected and the connected WI-FI icon on the mobile was appearing
However when opening a web page the error "invalid server name" was appearing
I saw your posts and reconfigured my modem with your guide given in ur link "mydataone.net/router/wa3002g4""The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL"
However post reboot of modem the default gateway is appearing as blank on the device info page of the modem.
My existing Wi- Fi on laptop is also not working properly now forget about wi-fi on mobile
Every minute the its getting disconnected "might be bcz of automatic IP" settings enabled.
pls also clarify whether i need to type the username with bsnl.in suffix or just the username will do in the PPP username and password page while reconfiguring the modem.
    Thanks in advance.

whether i need to type the username with bsnl.in suffix or just the username will do in the PPP username and password page while reconfiguring the modem.
In wan page user Id without bsnl.in
PASS word as given to you.
Go to Management and there select SAVE reboot. wait for 2 minutes.
Check The Chennai web site and compare your settings.
In dhcp did you give a range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
    Enable UpNP also if seen.
see the wireless settings Example :
ipconfig /all adsl modem + wifirouter.

Still have to dial the PPP adaptor to connect to the net.
You have not made any changes in WAN page of modem.
    Deselect "Bridged"
    select PPP/PPPoE
    Next
    enter userid PW
    Go to management SAVE reboot.
Check with this website for screen shots.

    Hi Essbebe
I have done all the things are advised you and as shown in the chennai site with screenshots and saved and rebooted the modem.
But still not able to surf directly and have to use the PPP dialer.
Also in mobile not able to surf "invalid server name" showing although the wi-fi modem is detectable and is getting connected from the mobile.
Do I need to delete the PPP dataone dialer from the list of "network connections" first?
should I post the Ipconfig page?
Am really frustated that even after 3 days of trying am not able to crack this.
Thanks for your efforts though Essbebe.

    follow instructions.
Test with rj45 connected to computer.

2.If you are using IE7 confirm. Check Internet options.
    Select Never dial a connection.
I will be back after one hour.

Have already configured the modem as per the shown screenshots in the below link, however not yet done the security part. Is it required to enable multiple sharing of my connection?

    Default :d:d

    Finally got this thing working.
The trick was properly naming the connection in the wan page where username and Password has to be put.
Previously was naming it dataone but read a thread
"indiabroadband.net/bsnl-broadband/9623-how-connect-your-i-phone-wireless-router-zxdsl-531b.html#post157723" and named it "PPPoE LLC" and voila it worked.
Still not checked if the wifi in mobile is working or not.
    Will check and post .
Thanks a lot to Essbebe and also thanks to kunalisgeek for his post on 21-09-08.
    Cheers
