Thread: BSNL brodband with d-link GLB 802C modem problem

I am using bsnl broadband connection for more than 4 years.recently my old modem got problem.so i bought new ADSL modem from shop.model - dlink (GLB-802C) and configured the modem with the cd.i configured using pppoe method.but internet connection dropped often when i am using.so i configured the modem in bridge mode and used to connect the bsnl using manual connection which is created in desktop...this connection working fine..what's the problem why i can't the use the modem with pppoe type connection?is there any advanced settings required?
my pc config
intel dual core 1.8 ghz,asus p5 gc mx motherboard, 2 gb ram,windows xp with sp3,160 gb sata hard disk drive,16x sata dvd writer..

i called to d link customer care.they told the values of below parameters should be between 20-25 db.they asked to check with bsnl

Your line statistics are fine and you must enjoy stable connection with those line stats. Try one more time with pppoe mode.

Mention the dns values you entered in modem
and in Lan Network page of computer.

Disconnection - Do you loose the adsl link or don't you get the internet on the system while dsl and internet lights stay on the modem?

As long as you get uninterrupted internet connection in bridge modem then you should get it in PPPoE mode also. Just tell us the exact situation so that we can understand the problem before recommending a solution.

I used d link connect utility to configure my modem in pppoe mode.I am using firefox to browse the internet.i can able to browse net initially but i am frequently getting "page not displayed" message for every 15 minutes.youtube videos not buffering properly.the net working fine after some 2 minutes again after 5 minutes problem.

Mean that no adsl link failure use tcp/ip optimizer and set mtu value to a lower one.

I have the same problem with this modem, did you solve the problem.

Just tell us the exact situation so that we can understand the problem before recommending a solution.
Presume you don't get stable connection in "always On" PPP/PPPoE
mode. ( userid and PW stored in modem )

the line condition you are saying is very fine with that values
the problem with pppoe connection is modem problem not other one

Yes i am using local area connection 2 for bsnl internet connection.Please explain me where can i change the dns values?is it in the network adapter primary dns and alternate dns or modem primary dns and alternate dns or both?

Anywhere you can change if you change it in the network adapter configuration then dns requests from this computer are directed to the configured servers.
if you change it in the modem then all computers can use these dns servers unless you specified otherwise in the network adapter configuration.

Please be specific, WHY you want to change your"Public" IP ?

You are confused with PublicIp/Gateway Ip/PrivATEIP/Static Ip/Dynamic IP etc.
Bsnl allots you a changing Dynamic IP, when ever you connect , either in Bridged: or PPP/PPPoE mode.
Then you join a BSNL gateway 117.xx.xx.xx
(if you are on dialer mode ipconfig /all will show this)
or if "Always On" in Modem status page.
This can also change.

Delete all cookies. You have no control over the Gateway IP or
DynamicIP address allotted to you.
What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
You can try a Proxy server .
