Please mention your requirement. Static IP is not free, you need to pay for that. You can get one by giving a written request. It will be a head ache if you changed to static IP. Downloading from one click hosting sites will be largely affected. Dynamic IP helps you renew your IP by simply redialling the connection.
If you want to set up your system as a server, instead of static IP, you can use NO-IP or DynDns.
All subscribers are allotted dynamic IP address only. Facility of static IP address is there only in certain plans, initially they are also allotted dynamic address, if, they make the written request for provision of static IP address then only static IP address is provided. One more static IP address is provided at the rate of Rs.1500/- per annum for those who already have a static Ip address.
As you are in BBG FN COMBO 600 you are not eligible for static IP address even on written request.
my requirement is port forwarding for utorrent,
and i read on portforward.com that i need to have a static ip address for port forwarding,
my router is siemens, don't have advanced settings option, heres the screenshot of 192.168.1.1
how to do it?
For port forwarding, you need an " internal " static IP like 192.168.1.25 .
Try this link (similar modem)
UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference
i already checked that link,
my problem is that i don't have the advanced option in 192.168.1.1 menu, so how will i add port which i want to forward
see the screenshot i posted above, on the left side theres no option where i can do port forwarding...
Try 192.168.1.1/main.html.don't have the advanced option in 192.168.1.1 menu,
Presume you are on PPP/PPPoE "Always On" mode
{userid and PW entered in modem WAN page }
do to dsl settings
essbebe, you are great
i got it, i was searching for this thing all google, all other broadband related sites for the last 1 year maybe more,
but i found it out here on indiabroadband.net,
thanks so much
