Bsnl Broadband , high Bill

Hi Team

Kindly request your help here , My Bsnl Bill for sep 2010 show very bill amount of about 7000/- RS

Plan home500 using since 1 year now , but only see the sep 2010 bill is so high

Here is the details I received

Broadband Usage 201009-----hope this is in KB ?
Grs :13000 ,Net : 9988=5992.06

Please explain Broadband Usage 201009 , is this the complete usage including the free 1.5 GB and plus the night usage ?

and what is Grs and net refer to

Because i hv not used so much this month , is it possible can some one hack my account and use ?

or can be virus ? show upload is more, but i never upload anything so big

can i report this to any one in BSNL office , if so ple help me with the contact /email in kerala Thrissur

Kindly please help , as want to know if i need to really pay this bill of 7 k ?

Post your usage details screen shot. What is the chargeable units excluding night unlimited ?

You can try writing to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. ID and phone no on the backside of your bill. You can find the details of authority in BSNL Kerala website. It is better to talk to the accounts officer in person.

Please check in http://data.bsnl.in with your 14 digit Usage ID and PW
and check your usage data. ( billed for Sept 2010)
It is possible your NU and day usage data is overlapping.

See at the top Summary Total Usage ( less NU free download)
from this figure deduct 1.5 GB

Rs. 500 + extra usage at 60 paise per extra MB. Calculate.

Grs :13000 ,Net : 9988 13000 MB Net 9988MB

Chargeable Units(GB) Excluding Night Unlimited :11.25GB less 1.5 GB= 9.75GB
.[.25GB = 1024/4=256MB]
10GB minus .25GB= 10240 minus 256 MB = 9984 MB
9984MB x 60 paise : ( say 10,000 MB x 60 paise = Rs 6000/=)Rs5992.06
4 MB calculation error.

Para two:
From you usage data page check when downloads have overlapped earlier to 0200AM
On average/hourly basis you can ask for rebate/

Great guys , excellent response . i dont see anything as overlapping,, so i think i hv to pay this bill

any suggestion ?

Due to this high bill incident i am planning to switch my plan from current COMBO500

I just use the internet to check mails and i use Lan phone for STD and more local calls

And I am happy with 256 Kbs .

So i am planning to go for BB Home UL 499* ? what would be my LAN phone call tariff please provide me the link

If your extra usage goes above 4 GB, you can get a discount up to 15 %. Check with the accounts officer. He will be the right person to help you.

You can call customer care and ask for the accounts officer's no. . They normally give it without any hesitation.

Hey if you just use broadband for emails, why don't you change for an unlimited plan?

Check this Samadhan scheme by BSNL for disproportionate bills. I think you can avoid paying hefty bill if you change to any unlimited plan..

From what I heard, Samadhan scheme is not for existing users. It is target to bring back lost members.

I used to have Home 250, changed to UL 750 (Thanks to those huge bills from BSNL).

Today I met Account officer
he said he will give some discount and will update us whats the final amount later , may be by phone

And asked to go for UL plan 625 as UL 499 is having some issue.

So now I am wating to know whats the amount i need to pay

There is nothing wrong with UL 499. In this plan, telephone rent is extra where as in Combo UL 625, there is no need to pay telephone rent and no free calls too. Both give 256 Kbps unlimited.

Make follow up calls to make sure that he keeps the promise. All the best.

Rs.499 plan + modem rent Rs.80 + Telephone rental (@ Rs.110) + service tax 10.3 % = Rs.759.967.

Better you take Rs.750 plan : Rs.750 + (no rental for phone and modem) + 10.3 % service tax = Rs.827.25.

I received a call from BSnl today , and they asked me to pay about 2700 rs instead of 7000, and the plan i will be in is 625 ul.

not sure how did they came to this 2700 rs , hope i can change the plan after a month to 750
