Bsnl Broadband BB Home Combo ULF 900 speed

Is this a new connection by any chance?! ULF 900 is supposed to be 4 MBPS till a certain limit I think and then down to 256 kbps. Even I was surprised at first that my UL750+ Combo plan which was supposed to be 512 kbps was showing 2 Mbps on National Servers Delhi and Mumbai while the speeds were a little different on Colombo, US.

Then I remembered seeing some 15 days Unlimited Data Download so guess that must be the whole offer 2 Mbps over the normal plan speed for first 15 days on new connection. Hope someone can confirm this. The thing is already in one week yesterday and day before the line was down, and frequent disconnects till now. So am unsure if its worth.

First the modem wasn't set up and the modem was brought on 23/10/2010, but the setup was completed only at 5:00 a.m. on 25/10/2010 since there was some line problem and that needed to be rectified first, that itself 2 days lost, now again yday and day before line was screwed up so again 2 days lost.

If you could get that speed throughout the month with no Fair Usage Limit then maybe can exclaim WOW!!

Do not trust speed test sites. Download any file from Microsoft and check your speed. That will give a true picture.

You can trust Speedtest. There might be small changes but it's actually good.

I am also getting more speeds probably due to diwali seasim.I got speeds around 550 kbps. when tested speed from bsnl they show 4 - 8 mbps.!!
