Thread: Problems in broadband sharing

Hi guys....
we bought a BSNL Broadband connection 750 unlimited...
We purchased a LAN switch and me and my roommate use the internet thru tht switch.
Now he downloads everytime because of which i couldnot even open google home page.I have to wait for atleast for some minutes for the google home page to open .
Can anyone help me how to sortout this problem .Does port forwarding has anything to do with this ....?
How to increase the speed ...?
Modem is of BSNL UT300R2U.
Some times i couldnot even open modem home page ....
Kindly help me to sort out on this problem as soon as possible ....

1.Make his connection through USB port.
2.use google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
3.Use browser Chrome or Firefox.
4.Agree to use internet at different times
and if possible change to higher speed plan.
5.Download tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
6.

7. Change Userid and PW for the modem to prevent frequent
changes in modem settings.
8.Download Ccleaner from filehippo.com and clear all temp files/cache and old System Restore points.
9. Defragment your system.
10. Disable resident applications appearing in TaskBar
keep to the minimum.
11. Feedback Item wise for further suggestions.

Whatever you do, you won't get anything more than 64 KBps. Ask your friend to use torrents and limit the download speed in it. You need to work out a solution with your friend.

You cannot browse anything unless your frnd stops(pause) downloading stuff, even if you increased your BB speed to 1Mbps....your frnd will download at full speed and you cannot see a single page.

Download speed cannot be increased unless the providers offers you something.

except no.7 i have done everything ....but not upto the mark ....

This was suggested as transfer rate in USB is 11 Mbps compared to ethernet speed 100 Mbps (Also for wifi normally 54Mbps. speed
difference not noticed usually )
