Thread: Slow torrent or cant access some sites

Hi Guys

Im having bsnl UL 750plan and has 2 bsnl modems

a) UT Starcom WA3002-g1
b) DNA - A211-I...

If i use modem (a), i cant access many of the sites such as piratebay, hotmail, yahoomail, etc but getting torrent download at max of 75kbps with stable speed of 50-60kbps. I pinged those sites and gets requests timed out.

If i use modem (b), i can access any site and direct downloads and browsing are too fast..But torrent speed goes from 5kbps to 50kbps and reduces back every minute...Usually goes at a stable speed of 15kbps..

Can someone figure out what to do? Now i have to switch the modems when browsing and when downloading

The piratebay trackers are currently rejecting connections from India on both bsnl and airtel. Maybe their servers are down.

Opening other websites is a different problem though. Try different browsers and deleting your cache. Also try ipconfig /flushdns and reset your modem to default settings.

Honestly it sounds like your 1st modem is broken.

but i can access piratebay too from the 2nd modem...if 1st modem is broken, shudnt be able to access other sites and torrents na...geting very high download speed on torrents...Most funny thing is i can access these sites from 1st modem using proxy sites..i will 1st goto a proxy site, then give the reuired url there...But i dont trust proxy sites while doing payment transactions..SOmeone plz help out..We are having 4 machines connected

1. Enter these DNS values in your first modem and check

208.67.222.222, 8.8.8.8

2. Try Opera Turbo.

3. Try a proxy and check.

u should check that ur firewall is allowing ur browser or not....it may try to connect to another port when u change ur modem....try disabling it
