Thread: Max download speed for BB 256Kbps

Hello,
I am using BSNL BB UL (Rs.750) download speed 256kbps connection from may to july 2010.This time i check download speed above 50Kbps. I download 2 big file and surffing internet without problem same time.but some reason i disconnect connection for two months.
Now BSNL reduce the monthly rent for BB UL Download speed 256Kbps Rs.499/ from Rs.750. I take new connection from Nov.2010 (BB UL Download speed 256Kbps Rs.499). I use google chrome browser for net surffing and file downloading. I check download speed to download Net framework 3.5 from microsoft download center the file download at 23KBPS to 27KBPS and i am not abble to surffing net same time the next page open delay after 5 second. I using Internet download manager to download same file downloading iregular speed from 20KBPS to 30KBPS.The speed is right for these connection .
please verify genuine speed for BB 256KBPS.

The maximum speed you should get in a 256 Kbps connection is 28-32 KBps. However, it also depends on the location and speed of the server from where you're downloading the file. I guess 23-27 from Microsoft server is quite OK. Did you check downloading the files from other location? Also, the pages may open slowly when download is going on in the 256 connection.

In a 256 Kbps connection, the maximum speed you get is 32 KBps. Anything around 25 - 28 KBps is good.

your speeds are just fine for a UL 750

as far as i know UL750 is 512Kbps

you are getting the fair speed as per your plan....

would like to clear one thing that there is a difference between the words Kbps (which operators usually mention) and your actual download speed which is in Bytes i.e. KBps however in the previous case the small 'b' represents bits

one byte is equal to 8 bits so you divide the speed which is in Kbps by 8 and you will get the actual download speed in bytes

oh another fan i must say(cuz its hard to see one) .... you have gone through i am guessing you already had a look at my blog i suppose, if not then surely do

what do you mean by full japanese cartoons, you mixing two terms here or is there something i am missing...

you can head over to anime sharing that is a very nice site and have loads no but tons of anime....
