    Exclamation Wifi issues

Hey, a week back bought a HTC wildfire. Everything was fine till i tried to connect to interet via home wifi(bsnl).

#Turned on the wifi on my phone
    #entered the wep password
#It says.. obtaining ip adress from " "
#after a few seconds ..all it says is "unsucessful"
#i've even tried with static ip. No success.

    My modem/router is a VMC AN1020-21 TYPE-2 modem.

It is a problem with my home wifi connection? or with my phone?

    Technical assistance needed!!

    1. Configure your modem in PPPoE.

    Similar modem, use this guide,

    Teracom Type-II ADSL MODEM MENU

    2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

    Thats all

    HTC wildfire
Should i change any network settings on my desktop?

If your desktop can access wifi network and you can surf no changes needed. ( or in LAN mode ).confirm use of wifi card in desktop.
Same SSID ( entered in modem/router should/will appear in HTC also.
    4.
    Try without any security code.
    or
    5 WPA code.
    or
    6
.set wifi channel 6 or 11
    7.
For screen shots similar unit. and link "teracom" below.

Try third tip. In your desktop, in the TCP/IP properties of your connection, set " obtain IP address automatically ".

    8.
    Copy/Paste here ipconfig /all

In Network settingsWLAN on top the wlan ethernet card

    11.
You should change over to "Always On" mode
( Uncheck "bridged" in WAN page and select PPP/PPPoE.
Enter userId/Pw in next page etc )
    12.
Do you get a WLAN Icon in Network page ?
    (Start/All programs/Accessories/Communications
    Network / create a wireless Network )
