Smile Will I be able to get a broadband Connection?

Hi, I am a new user and this is my first post.

I have planned to get a broadband connection for home. So, I have chosen the 500 FN Plan(With 2.5 GB limit and Night unlimited). And modem is Type 1 Basic ASDL.
My problem is that, my house is at a distance of 1.5-2 KM from BSNL Exchange. So, will I be able to get the connection? And if yes, then Shall I get the promised 2 Mbps speed?
Please reply quickly. Any help will be appreciated.

Depends on a lot of factors. But simply saying, yes you can. Unless the line condition is bad, you will get 2 Mbps speed. Practically, it will be around 180 - 200 KBps. Also check with your neighbours about the speed they are getting.

BSNL portal is down every now and then. Most of us use a bandwidth meter to keep track of the usage. Try one from Shaplus or Networx.

You can ask your line man to fix it. Removing joints and non insulated parts will help.
