First you must have a working phone connection to get broadband. So, first apply for phone connection when phone connection is provided then apply for broadband provision if everything is fine you will get phone connection on the day of application or next day. Broadband provision is made with in two days of making request. Anyhow make an enquiry with local customer care centre of your area.

It depends on how you do the follow up. You can get it done in one day if you know how to handle BSNL people.

i get what you are saying.but all the physical lines won't make it easier for you.it will take 2 days for the bsnl guyz to understand that.
Bsnl has improved a lot since october.in Kolkata circle, new landline+broadband connection are given in 10 days.

Based on your circle, you can call the bsnl agents. They will make your work easier and you won't even have to go to the exchange.

You can choose a combo plan if you do not need a land line to make calls. Which plan are you planning ?

List of combo plans can be found here

I am planning a BBG FN Combo 500

i have got the 2 applications one for landline another for dataone..I should fill up both right?

I have a phone(instrument) already so i can use it for the free 175 call?

also will i get the same speeds at night unlimited hours? i am getting a speed of 1.5 mbps now 250 plan 1gb(i have to surrender this connection)

i will be using this at home pc mainly during night hours and also have to get a 3g card for my laptop so morning usage will be less that is why i didnt want to go for unlimited 750 coz it have a 512kbps cap..

any suggestions before i fillup the applications

    Check here

BBG FN Combo600 seems better. 1GB download. extra data
    No telephone rent
    250 free calls.

i was initailly opting for 500 bbg fn so this will end up 500 +120(telephone)=620rs so how much free call for this?

I think i will opt bbgfn combo 600=600 rs 250 free calls (so can i make calls beyond this and pay money?)

both the above plans have same data 2.5gb plus night free.

You may choose BBG FN Combo 500. The only drawback is that it has only 1.5 GB on day time. As you do not plan to use the connection much in the morning, your needs will be met. It has got 175 free calls.

For BBG FN 500 there are no free calls. It will be according to the land line plan you choose.

Even if you use beyond 250 free calls, your usage beyond the free calls with be charged according to the one India plan tariff.

Speed during night unlimited slot may not be as good as day time due to congestion of network. But you will get speed good enough for heavy downloading.

Hope this helps. If in doubt, feel free to ask.

the one you mentioned is home 500+phone rental(120rs)
what plan is that(the phone one)?
depending on that, u might get 50 free calls(like general or one-India) or you might get none.
your best bet is the 600C plan.It will cost you 600+tax+modem rent.phone rental is absolutely free.u get 250 free calls.and if u do more calls(>250), u can pay for them(included in the bill)
60 sec pulse for mobile and 180 sec pulse for Bsnl landlines

Nice. It is a good plan.

Due to the popularity of the Home 500 plans, network is congested during the 2- 8 slot. It depends on area and lots of other factors. Anything around 180 KBps is good.

hm its the general plan.u r getting 250 free calls + rental free with 600C.so no need to think about the landline plan.

600C is a very good choice if all you do is download/upload.

Make follow up calls to the exchange where you gave the application. They need to approve and send to Bangalore for authorization. Mostly the local exchange people might have ignored the second part of your application.

If nothing works, call Nodal officer or appellate authority. ID and phone no.on the backside of every BSNL bill. Check with your neighbours. They will be having it.

Bsbl BB connection is given in 3 stages.

    after you apply,

    1. local exchange line-man will deliver the modem and set it up for you.
he will make you sign the modem receipt and forward the application to the Divisional Engineer(Broadband)

2.the DE(BB) will request Bangalore to send a user/pass and email/pass.the details will be sent to you by a sms or you can call 18004241600

3.the network setup guy will come to your house and change the PPPoe to bridge mode, put in the ip, subnet mask and...

total procedure takes 2 weeks approx.

u can bribe the line-man to speed up point 1
u can visit the DE(BB) and speak to him to speed up point 2
    point 3 is useless
