Default BSNL broadband username and password

    Hi members

I am a fresh member to this forum.

I have connection to bsnl broadband via MT882 modem (wired only).
I am able to access/know the account usage using my username and password.
My question is - the username/pw that I am using to access/ know account usage - is that same as PPPoE account username and password ?

No. The user name and password used to check usage details at portal and one used to connect through modem are different.

the one you use for broadband connection is the service user/pwd.
the one you use for logging into the portal is either the portal id/pwd or the bsnl mail id/pwd

    Thanks both Suvo and meetdilip.

    To Suvo :
your first sentence is the PPPoE account in which we will access internet ; correct ?
And the second sentence is for checking the usage details ; correct ?

These passwords used to be same earlier about 6-7 years back. But after the introduction of Multi-play technology, they are different.
    Answers above are correct.

    @N.L.Ravindra

    check your Ip here.

myIPaddress.com: What is my IP address? How do I find my IP address?
if it is 59.xx.xx.xx then USERID/PW will work for
    Usage portal.
    2. for IP address 117.xx.xx.xx
depending on circle .3 to 4 sets required.

    @essbebe

Thanks for the data ; things are becoming clearer. Just to precipitate my understanding, pl check below my statements.

    - My IP add is 59.xx.xx.xx (these xx will keep chaging whenever I newly start the session by power toggling the modem) ; is that correct ?
    - I have logged into modem using 192.168.1.1 (using admin / admin). I click on "WAN settings" and I can see under PPP - a username and pw (in asteriks - I have counted their number too)
    - Whatever I see the username above, the same username I use to check the usage details (by using 10.240.43.216).
    - The PW that I used in the above step matches with the number of asteriks displayed under PPP in modem screen
    - That means "my PPPoE username and pw" is same as the one that I use for checking usage details (by using 10.240.43.216). correct ?

    - The above confirmation is required for the following reasons ....
-- I would like to change from wired n/w to wifi by purchasing a router and I may need the username/pw of PPPoE to setup router. Can I use the same 'ones' that I have used to check 'usage details" (The reason being I have only noted down username/pw for checking the usage details - I have not noted down username/pw of my PPoE account)

    Thanks in advance

    All correct. ( I had same 59.xx.xx.xx )
For you userID/.PW is same as entered in wan page.
Same set you can use to check usage.
If using Firefox try add on Datafox to check usage.

    2.
If are using PPPoE mode ( as above) no need to enter
    ID/PW in wifi router.
    3.
Please check "broadband How to " forum for
guide by @just4kix to connect adsl modem and WIFI router.
    ( wgr614v9 Netgear wifi router explained )
    4.
You have the option to buy or rent from Bsnl a 3-in 1
    ( type 4 AdslModem+4 lan port+ wif router/. Rs 80/PM rent or Rs 1800/=outright purchase)
