Default Bsnl broadband Plan change help needed

    Hello!
I am using BSNL broadband (500C plan) for last two years.Due to increase my BB usage,I have decided to change my plan to UL.But I am not sure which one is better for me.BSNL officials suggest me to go for 625 CS1.I am also thinking about the speed,it will gradually down to 256 kbps(file download 20-30 kbps).I am having speed of over 1.6 mbps. Also I have to make sure that my monthly bill cannot be exceeded over Rs 1000.I am totally confused can anyone help me?

How much data do you need per month ?

There are ULF plans. For example ULF 900 gives 4 Mbps till 8 GB and 256 Kbps afterwards.

I am using UL 750. I am getting 512 Kbps unlimited for Rs. 750 per month. If you are government employee, you will get 20 % discount on usage and rental.

You may also try BB Home Combo ULF 1000 which gives 1 Mbps till 15 GB and later at 256 Kbps.

This will give you a better idea

    .:Unlimited Home Only:.

In UL 750, phone bill is separate. You can use the current plan for land line. Another plan is BB Home Combo UL 750. In this, there is no telephone rent or free calls. You can use your land line to make calls with tariff as same as in One India plan.

For UL 750, you need to pay Rs. 750 + 10.3 % tax.

My current plan is 500C,if I change it to UL750 then I have to pay
750+tax+500(current plan that gives 175 free calls)?? am I right? it's better to stick with UL 750 combo if I am not wrong.

Monthly rent for land line in non rural areas is Rs.180. Not sure how you got it as 500. You need to pay Rs. 750 as one month advance too. But since you are in Home 500 and already paid Rs. 500, you need to pay only extra Rs. 250.

If you do not have much use for land line, choose 750 Combo. There are no free calls in this plan.

Hope it is clear now. If in doubt, feel free to ask.

Yes,it's better to stick with 750 Combo,my landline calls barely cross 140 in each month 750+150 calls(maximum)+tax=about 950 per month is quite affordable for me.Now I am having bill over 2500 per month, today I received my bill for
Rs 2,821.This is all for my huge data usage

Try talking to the accounts officer for some discount. At times, they gives concession. Me too had problems with huge bill. That is why I am on UL 750. Peace of mind guaranteed.

thats bcoz u chose the wrong plan.home combo plans NU plans are for night download only.
if u have have to download during day time, an UL plan is your best bet.
go for BB Home combo ULF 900.
    900+tax=1000.
nearly same as u have calculated for UL 750.
    plus u get 400 calls.

Officially you are not eligible for discounts. But you can talk to the account officer about the huge bill and seek some discount. If he is adamant, tell him that you will pay it in installments. Better go there in person accompanied by someone who is good at negotiating.

Normally they give concession if you are getting huge bill. Depends upon the nature of accounts officer.

600C and Home 500 are the only 2 plans in which u get NU + 2.5 GB usage.
if your usage is >>>>> 2.5 GB, then you can't have the benefit of night unlimited as the only option left then is an UL plan.

These plans are old now. Bandwidth consumption has increased a lot these days. BSNL should seriously consider increasing the limit to 5 GB or 10 GB.

What is the upload speed you get ? I think UL plans are good for seeding. UL 750 gives up to 50 KBps speed for uploading.

    mine is a 500C.
I posted on your thread http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...ection-18.html (How old is your BSNL connection)

my download speed is around 240 kBps and upload speed is around 90 kBps.
yeah, the UL plans are excellent for seeding.bad for me coz i can't keep my pc on for whole day.mom will eat me at dinner then.

I am extremely satisfied with 500C.it suits my needs.

ya. Home 500 plans are the best available in India. I would have moved to it, but my day time usage is a bit high.

You won't get 15 days unlimited. It was a promotional offer and ended on 15 th of this month.

Re-launch ofPromotional scheme allowing “15 days Unlimited Free Download” and waiver of Installation charges to the new customers registering their Broadband connection during the period 15.09.2010 to 15.11.2010 in all Circles
Which portal do you use ? You can find it in the " My orders " page. Check for plan status and effective date.

agree with dilip.offer ended on 15th nov.

also note that if this offer is renewed again, its only for new connections.not for plan changes.
