    Default Help!!!

I got my broadband installed on 14 oct 2010 . my total usage for the month of october was 1678 MB. my plan is home 500 which has a limit of 2560 MB but since my broadband was installed on 14th oct my limit was around 1.5 gb for the month of october.( this was told yo me by JTO broadband that 2560 mb is for 30 days and as the connection was installed on 14thoct i will get only 2560/30 * 17 ) . now my problem is that my total usage for the month of november is 1370 till date but still selfcare page is showing chargeable units as 454.... which means that i will have to pay Rs 454 x .60 ( 60 paise per MB) extra in my bill. what should i do ...... am i wrong in estimating this chargeable units thing..... please help as i am afraid to use my BB due to extra bill.........

Don't use further. May be an error.

Another chance is that you got the 15 days unlimited usage discount which is available for new users.

    Promotional Offer

Post your usage details page's screen shot. Do you see the first 15 days usage as zero ? Check and confirm.

Don't worry then. It seems you got the 15 days unlimited offer ( Hope you checked the link I gave). It is a pity that they did not inform you about the offer.

It is shows the billable data usage for your plan excluding all offers.
so billable data means data exceeding 2560 MB or total data usage?

You need to worry only if " Chargeable data excluding night unlimited " cross 2560 MB. Suppose it shows 3560 MB, then you need to pay for 1000 MB. Hope it is clear now.

Do care to blacken your personal details while posting the screen shot.

Well advised. I have seen a lot of people not taking care of this simple step and landing into problems.

call the broadband customer care 18004241600 and ask them the activation date of your BB connection.if it is 14 Oct you were entitled to get free UL d/l till the 29th of Oct.

    http://calcuttatelephones.com/new-te...onal_bb1.shtml

some serious mistake by BSNL.stop using your BB and go to the SDE internal(BB section).he will confirm everything.

how do you know your usage is 1370?
as far as the portal shows, you don't have to pay anything.
the 475.52 mb is within your limit of 2.5gb.

Keep this screen shot safe. It happened to me once. They updated my usage on 1st of the month on 20 th of that month. That is one of the reason I ended with a huge bill. BSNL portals are not reliable. But we have no option but to bear it.

Use a good bandwidth meter like Shaplus or Networx to check your usage. But that is just for reference. BSNL won't approve those values.

    @dilip
    excellent idea.
i take screenshots every 10 days.
sometimes 1-2 days are absolutely missing from the portal.bsnl doesnt use this portal.this is for the customers only.their portal is somewhat different.the AOTR has access to that.even the SDE cant access it.

Yes, nothing wrong if it does not exceed 2560 MB.

Talk to the Senior Divisional Engineer and seek help. Tell him about the difference. Talk to customer care and ask for his no.

    wow.
u did a lot of hard work.i have never calculated the total like that.are you sure you have calculated right?
the bill will always be charged on the total chargeable units.
like dilip said, talk to the SDE.he will clear your doubts.don't download 2 much before clearing the issue.

i talked to sde ..... he told me that ur excluding night usage total should not exceed 2560..... otherwise there is no prob lem and the difference in units is due to slow updation of data by server....

That is exactly what I mentioned. They will update the data some other time putting you in trouble. Me too had to face this once.
