    Default Need help in configuring D'link adsl/modem Glb-802C with Bsnl Broadband on XP

    Hello,
    this is aditya from pune.Recently my modem which was provided from BSNL broke,so i brought a new one.I have given the name of the above model.It will be really helpful if i be guided to configure it....and also my querry is that i am using BSNL broadband Internet 750 Unlimited...what is the limit for the plan...Thank you...

    There is no limit for UL 750. I am using the same plan. You can download as much as you can.

    You can configure the modem in PPPoE or Bridge. All you need is VPI/VCI values are 0 - 35 and BSNL's ID and password.

    Yes. Modem configuration is independent of operating system.

    hey thanks for the help...but once again i have a querry the net gets frequently disconnected on pppoep...but is working fine on bridge connections...iwhat may be the reason???and also will the bridge connection settings will affect the internet bill????sorry coz i really don much abt it!!!

    No, using bridge mode is just like PPPoE. You won't be charged extra.

    For disconnection, take a back up of modem settings, reset it and configure it again.

    final question......how to backup the modem settings,reseting it and configure it....it would be really helpfulll

    How to take back up

    1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

    2. ID and password is admin.

    3. From the LHS panel, select " admin " or similar.

    Not sure whether your modem allow back up.

    Or

    You can simply take the screen shot of all pages with 0 _ 35 entry. Use the " Edit " button.

    Reset the modem

    There will be a small hole in the rear side of the modem. Use a refill and press hold it for say 30 seconds when the modem is ON.

    Reconfigure the modem

    Use the screen shot taken for back up
