    Default please help me guys..

i am having a bsnl broadband connection.
My modem is utstarcom WA3002G4 with wifi..
when i upgraded my laptops os to win 7 ultimate 32 bit i am now unable to connect my laptop to the internet.
The modem gets connected as its shows connected.
when i am dialing the pppoe connection they r saying error 651.
i am able to connect to the internet directly(without wifi). but using wifi the sam error comes.
one of my friend said to configure the modem again. But i am unable to access the modem menu by typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser. i tried many browsers.. still no use.
i have accessed its menu when i had win xp in my desktop. But now as i changed its os also to win 7 iam unable to access its menu too..
help me please to solve this problem.

    1. Please mention your mode of connection, PPPoE or Bridge ?

    2. While in XP you where you able to connect using wifi ? confirm.

    3. How many machines do you use ?

    4. If you cannot log in to your modem, type the IP (external) in your address bar and check.

Use this link to find your IP

What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...

    5. I think a modem reset will do the trick. There will be a small hole on the bottom side of your modem. Press hold with a refill for say 30 seconds when the modem is ON. Hope you know how to configure after reset.

    Feedback.

its not a modem fault or a network fault.its a bug in windows 7.

go to device manager and check if the correct version of the ethernet driver and wifi driver is installed.

    Default steps to configure

bro this is not a bug of win7 ............ error 651 is basicaly error 678
dnt worry its very simple to configure

here are some steps to configure

    1) first check your dsl is constant or not .
    2) connect your modem through lan cable in your pc
    3) then ping your modem ( go to run and type " ping 191.168.1.1" without quotes )
    4) if they give you reply then your connection is k modem to your pc
    5) then open your internet explorer and type in address bar 192.168.1.1 and hit enter
    6) then go to advance setup then wan
    7) look at right hand side ...... edit first option
    8) then choose pppoe from the list
    9) then fill username and password and click next and restart your modem

Error 678/Error 679/Error 651 : "The remote computer did not respond"

    1. A network cable is disconnected.
    2. The modem has been disabled.
    3. The modem drivers are corrupted.
    4. Spyware is running on the computer and is interfering with the connection.
    5. Winsock has to be repaired.
    6. Third-party firewall software is blocking the connection.

678/679 happens in XP and 651 happens in windows 7 only.

But this 651 error is a very common problem among windows 7 users and happens bcoz of 3 in 90% of the cases. As you can connect via cable, check your wifi drivers.go to device manager and check if your wireless adapter is recognised and working.
