Default Urgent Help required : issue with ethernet, HUAWEI MT841

    dear friends....
i m new to this forum.
first i will like to congratulate all the members of the forum, the info in this forum is excellent....

well i have a home500 data one connection with the mt841 modem...

i have configured the modem for autodial and have the wireless setup up and working.

i access the net thru my laptop and my palmtop using wifi and everything works excellent....

i also have two another desktops that are not wireless ready and i want to access internet thru them.

now when i connect ne of the computers using the ethernet connection (i.e using the good old LAN wire), the computer is not able to obtain an IP address and the network icon says limited or no connectivity...

when i connect the PC using the USB wire, the connection works but that is not guud to me as i have 2 computers and ethernet ports provided in the router is the only option for me for connecting multiple computers…..

I think it’s a problem with the modem as none of the computers is able to get an address and even if I connect my laptop thru the Ethernet card the same problem is faced….

i have tried every thing including resetting the modem and even updated the firmware but nothin seems to help. its very important for me to resolve this issue so i kindly request the pros in the forum to help me in this regards..

    thanks in advance.....

    Default Try this

Check whether DHCP is enabled in the modem
    If problem continues

Limited connetivity can be removed by
specifying the IP address in the PC
For each PC connected to the LAN ports
    put IP address : 192.168.1.x (x=3,4,5 etc)
    subnet mask :255.255.255.0
    Gateway :192.168.1.1
    DNS server :192.168.1.1

For browsing simultaneously from all PCs
create a pppoe connection in the modem

well some how i got around with the problem..
i resetted the modem and limited the modem to only issue 4 ip addresses,(prev set to 50).
and after reboot of pcs and modem.. its working fine now.
the modem is already configured for auto dial, so internet for every pc and not to mention that i now even listen to internet radio on my home theatre thru my network enabled reciever connected to the modem thru ethernet....
    thanks for the reply though...
